About This Pub

Ah, The Little Acorn – it's one of those neighbourhood spots that just feels right for a casual get-together. From the reviews, it's clear the staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, with quick service and a chatty manner that turns a simple drink into a proper night out. I love how they've got that jukebox pumping out tunes and events like bingo to liven things up, plus the food sounds brilliant – think hearty, well-cooked meals with portions that won't leave you wanting more, all at prices that are easy on the wallet. It's also handy for parties or wakes, with a function room and extras like a pool table and beer garden adding to the appeal. But, on the downside, if you're partial to a good pint of ale, you might find the options a bit lacking; they've got the pumps there, but they're not being used much, so it's mostly bottles on offer. Still, with such a solid 4.4 rating from the crowd, it's a reliable choice for a laid-back pint and a laugh with friends – just keep your expectations in check for the drinks menu.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like catching up with old mates.
  • It's got a lovely atmosphere with a great jukebox and fun events like bingo, perfect for a relaxed evening.
  • The food is spot on – generous portions and amazing value, especially in the cosy cafe upstairs.
  • They offer nice facilities like a function room, pool table, and a small beer garden, ideal for gatherings or a quick game.
Cons
  • The ale selection is a bit disappointing; they've got pumps that aren't in use, so it's mostly bottled options rather than a wide range.
  • It might not thrill beer enthusiasts looking for more variety, as the draught choices are limited.

Went into the cozy cafe above the little acorn. Made so welcome. Food amazing and sumptuous portion, service above and beyond amd prices that won't be beaten. Beats all other cafes in the area

We popped here for a wake recently and it was an ok pub. They’ve got a function room, pool table and a small beer garden. Sadly they’ve got ale pumps, but they’re not used. They just serve a couple in bottle which is a downside. They’ve got several draught beers however.

Always warm and welcoming, quick service and staff are always happy and chatty which makes it a very relaxing place to drink. Had my sons birthday party here and nothing was too much can’t fault them. Bingo on a Monday is quickly becoming my new favourite night of the week

Visited for a Christmas meal last night with friends. Absolute bargain price and lovely food, properly cooked. The two waitresses serving were very friendly, excellent service would definitely recommend.
