About This Pub
You know, when I think about The Lancashire Fold, it just has that inviting, homely feel that makes you want to settle in for the afternoon. The food's a real highlight – their Sunday roasts are bang on, with heaps of trimmings and that unbeatable unlimited gravy, and the seasonal dishes are fresh and full of flavour, especially when paired with a proper pint of cask ale. The staff are an absolute delight, always cheerful and on hand to sort you out, which really adds to the welcoming atmosphere for everything from family lunches to private dos. On the flip side, it does tend to get rammed at peak times, so you might end up queuing or sharing space, and if you're not keen on classic pub grub, the options could come across as a bit straightforward without much variety for those seeking something different. All in all, it's a solid spot for a good meal and a catch-up, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the Middleton area – just plan ahead for the busier days!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The Sunday roasts are absolutely spot on, with generous portions, unlimited Yorkshire puddings, and lashings of gravy – it's become a real favourite for a proper family get-together.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always going the extra mile to make sure everything's just right, whether you're ordering at the table or enjoying the outdoor service.
-
That newly refurbished beer garden is a winner, offering a lovely spot for a pint in the sunshine, complete with table service for food and drinks.
-
They've got cracking value deals, like the pub lunch for two at a great price, and the seasonal menu is full of fresh flavours that pair perfectly with their quality cask ales.
-
It's got a warm, welcoming community vibe, making it ideal for casual meals, celebrations, or just popping in for a chat with friends in a cosy setting.
Cons
-
It can get pretty busy, especially on Sundays, which might mean a wait for a table and a bit of a hustle to find a seat.
-
With opening times starting at midday, it's not the best choice if you're after an early breakfast or a quick morning coffee.
-
The menu sticks to traditional pub fare, so if you're in the mood for something a bit more adventurous or specific dietary options aren't always highlighted, it might feel a tad limited.

Lovely Sunday afternoon for family birthday celebration. The team were excellent, ordered at the table for us & service exceptional. We had Sunday lunch and it is one of the best we have had.
Sunday Roast was on point. Unlimited yorkshire puddings and gravy a big plus. Very generous kids portion for theprice. Beer garden looks great - can't wait for a bit of sunshine to go with.
Great food and service, decent prices. We all had a Sunday roast, good portions and it's a lovely pub inside and out
A friendly pub with lovely staff. Nothing too much bother.
The beer garden has been newly refurbished to a high standard, and the team are now offering outside table service for food and drinks too.
Went for a Christmas meal here and had a lovely time! Service was wonderful, and I wanted to leave a review mainly to say thank you to the staff. Food was beautiful as well and I honestly think the white chocolate crème brûlée was the nicest dessert I've ever had. Thank you to everyone involved for making it such a lovely experience! Would definitely go again.
