About This Pub

Ah, The Harbord Harbord – it's one of those reliable Wetherspoons spots that you can pop into for a no-fuss pint or a hearty meal without breaking the bank, and I've got to say, the steaks and craft beers are absolute winners that keep drawing me back. The team on the floor often shines through with their warm smiles and efficient service, like that gem of a server who made a real effort to make everyone feel welcome. On the flip side, it's a shame about the occasional slip-ups with management, where things can get a bit tense and spoil the cosy pub feel we'd all love. All in all, it's a decent choice for a laid-back catch-up with mates, as long as you go in with realistic expectations – the good bits far outweigh the bad, but it's worth keeping in mind for a truly enjoyable visit.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • It's a fantastic spot for grabbing an affordable meal or drink, with prices that make it easy on the wallet without skimping on quality.
  • The staff can be really welcoming and attentive, like that standout server Bobby who went above and beyond to make folks feel right at home.
  • The food hits the spot, especially the steaks and craft beers, which are cooked just right and offer great value for a casual bite.
  • It's conveniently located in Middleton and stays open late, making it ideal for a relaxed evening or a quick stop after a day out.
Cons
  • There have been a few uncomfortable moments where the manager's behaviour towards staff has come across as rude, which can put a damper on the atmosphere.
  • It might not always feel as polished as you'd hope, with some instances making the overall vibe a bit off-kilter.

I was really put off by the way the manager treated his staff during my visit. He was rude, abrupt towards his employees in front of customers. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere and completely overshadowed the food, which was otherwise decent. A little respect and professionalism would go a long way here.

I had such a wonderful time at this Wetherspoons! The environment was wonderful. We had a young girl called Bobby serve us and she was nothing but perfect. She got us our food in an orderly time and ensured it was to our satisfaction. She was wonderful to talk to and was very professional. I would recommend this Wetherspoons to anyone! Best believe I am coming here again 🤞

The steaks on the menu are delicious and cooked to order. The price is very good and great value. The flavour of the steaks never let you down. Some very tasty craft beers too.
