About This Pub

Ah, The Lamb – it's one of those pubs that really captures the heart of Romford, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this warm, community vibe that's just spot on for a casual evening. The staff stand out as absolute gems; they're always up for a laugh and make you feel right at home, which is exactly what you want when you're out for a drink with friends. The beer's clean and fairly priced, and with live bands adding to the fun, it's easy to see why folks keep coming back for that traditional pub experience. On the downside, though, the food's a bit of a mixed bag – some have had shocking meals with slow service that doesn't quite live up to the rest of the place, so I'd say it's best to pop in for the drinks and atmosphere rather than a full meal. Overall, it's a solid choice if you're after a good time without the fuss, but keep expectations in check for the grub, and you'll likely have a brilliant night.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are a right laugh and super friendly, always up for a chat and making you feel welcome like old mates.
  • It's got that classic EastEnders vibe with a traditional pub setup, plenty of space, and a lively atmosphere that keeps things buzzing.
  • The beer selection is spot on with reasonable prices for Romford, perfect for a good night out without breaking the bank.
  • Live bands and entertainment add a fun twist, creating a proper local feel that's great for unwinding after a long day.
Cons
  • The food can be a bit of a letdown – some experiences have been pretty awful, so it's best to stick to drinks if you're popping in.
  • Service with food orders is hit or miss; there've been tales of long waits and mix-ups, even when it's not too crowded.
  • It might struggle on busier evenings, so if you're after a seamless experience, you could end up a tad frustrated.

First visit since new management have taken over. Bar staff are a great laugh and very friendly. Beer is clean and average price for romford. The decor is great with traditional pub setup - plenty of tables and space for a good night to be had! Bouncers were decent enough and kept the clientel well behaved! Hope they get the live bands back soon, they made for a fantastic atmosphere.

Visited to eat/drink while watching the recent England vs. Holland football match; beer choice was good with reasonable prices but the food was pretty awful and the service, though quick, was not much better. Maybe they couldn't cope with the number of orders as the pub was busy but we certainly won't be eating here again.

Pub looks great, however went for lunch on a quiet Tuesday, there were less than 10 people in the place. 40mins later the food still hadn't arrived. When staff were asked, they said 'there was a mix up in the kitchen,' yet no one else was eating. The staff didn't clock that the food hadn't arrived and no offer of a discount/ free drink etc
