About This Pub
Ah, The Bull – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Romford. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with that warm, inviting atmosphere that's perfect for sinking into a comfy spot to watch the footie or share a laugh over a meal. The food really shines; it's hearty, well-priced grub with a nice Irish twist that keeps things interesting without being over the top. And the staff? They're an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which adds to that homely feel. It's especially handy for families or anyone needing easy access, thanks to thoughtful features like the mobile ramp. On the downside, though, the hours can feel a tad restrictive if you're hoping for a proper night out – it winds down earlier on some days, so plan accordingly. Overall, it's a reliable spot that does the classics well, but if you're in the mood for something a bit more exciting or fancy, you might find it a smidge ordinary. Still, for a straightforward, enjoyable pub experience, I'd say give it a go – you won't be disappointed!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – think tasty Irish-inspired dishes that hit the spot without breaking the bank.
-
The staff are brilliant and make you feel right at home, like you're chatting with old mates behind the bar.
-
It's got a cracking atmosphere, perfect for watching the big match or just enjoying a relaxed catch-up with friends.
-
Great value for money, with reasonably priced drinks and meals that leave you feeling satisfied.
-
The place is clean and has excellent accessibility, like that mobile ramp, which makes it welcoming for everyone.
Cons
-
Opening hours can be a bit on the early side, especially on Sundays when it closes at 8 PM, so it might not suit late-night plans.
-
It's a solid traditional pub experience, but nothing particularly standout or unique if you're after something a bit more adventurous.

Great food, great staff and great atmosphere. Work in Essex two days a week and always visit the Bull as we’re treated like locals

Very well priced very clean pub I am very impressed . Thanks for a great birthday meal DT
Looked for somewhere to get a decent bite to eat on a late Sunday afternoon in central Romford.
Were lucky to find The Bull. Excellent value and tasty food, Irish themes in the food with relishes and dishes all with a hint from the Emerald Isle ☘️ drinks cold and very reasonably priced all served with charm by Tracey and her staff.Friendly locals, clean and accessible toilets too. Sourdough baguette with Philly steak and Sticky Toffee pudding with Irish vanilla highly recommended....
First visit won't be the last. Pleasure to leave a review 👍
We went to the pub for dinner as a family and the food and vibe of the pub were great. Staff were very friendly, especially Tracy who served us. Also. A great feature of the pub is that they have their own mobile ramp, so excepcional accessibility!
Nice little pub. The food is decent for pub grub.
Staff are always friendly.
