About This Pub
Ah, The Kings Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what folks are saying, the food is a real highlight; it's amazing how they serve up such generous portions at prices that make you do a double-take. The staff are spot on too, always ready with a smile and quick service, which really adds to the warm, welcoming vibe. You've got live music and sports on the telly to keep things lively, plus that separate area with the pool table is brilliant for a bit of banter and games with your mates. On the flip side, it's a shame about the beer options – no real ales means it might not satisfy everyone looking for a traditional pint. And while the old-school charm is endearing, it could feel a bit outdated if you're after something more contemporary. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good night out, especially if you're up for some affordable grub and a relaxed atmosphere, but it's worth keeping those drink preferences in mind before you pop in.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food here is absolutely brilliant – it's hearty, filling, and surprisingly affordable, leaving you wondering how they keep prices so low!
-
The staff are really friendly and on the ball, serving up drinks quickly and knowing their stuff, which makes for a welcoming visit.
-
It's got a great atmosphere with live music, sports on the big screen, and a separate room with a pool table for some proper fun.
-
The pub itself is spacious and has that classic old-school charm, perfect for a relaxed catch-up with mates.
Cons
-
The beer selection is a bit limited, with no hand-pumped ales on offer, so if you're after a proper pint of real ale, you might be disappointed.
-
It has an old-fashioned feel that works for some, but others might find it a tad dated compared to more modern spots.
-
The operating hours seem a bit inconsistent from what I've seen, so it's worth double-checking before heading out for a late one.

What started as a bold adventure turned into frolicking fun and mirth ! For the food , it was amazing! Certainly filled me up ! There is one thing that puzzled me though, why just why are the prices so cheap ??? 🙄
Lovely little pub in Houghton Regis, has a sports bar and a separate room with a pool table and separate part of the bar when your in there. Staff were nice and knowledgeable and served us quickly. Will definitely visit again
Played pool here last night in the local friendly league (& we won)...this is a large imposing building with high ceilings, built on a corner of Old Houghton Regis...it reminds me of the older London style pubs, it doesn't have any hand pump ales though. It shows sport on a large screen TV & has a TV lounge area around a fireplace, it also has a separate poolroom with a toilet at the end of this room featuring large ancient radiators, proper old school & is dimly lit with a small side bar access for ordering drinks.
Big old fashioned central location pub with plenty of space...large bar that has no hand pumps for ale but limited bottle range & the usual suspects keg. Backroom pool area with access to the bar for service... plenty of parking in the local public parking area
Good atmosphere, friendly stuff and live music.
