About This Pub
Ah, The Gary Cooper, it's one of those Wetherspoon pubs that you pop into for a reliable, no-fuss evening out. I have to say, the spacious layout and modern vibe really make it a comfortable spot to unwind with friends, and that outdoor seating is an absolute gem on a sunny day – perfect for enjoying a cold one while watching the world go by. The food often comes out hot and hits the spot, which is great value for the price, and the staff do keep things moving along efficiently, even during busy spells. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses; I've heard a few tales of long waits for meals that end up cold or poorly cooked, like that fish and chips disaster, and the tables can be a bit grubby, which takes away from the charm. Still, if you're after an inexpensive night with mates, it's worth giving it a go – just keep your expectations in check and maybe order at the bar to speed things up. All in all, it's a solid choice for a casual drink, with the good bits outweighing the niggles if you go in with the right mindset.

Nice venue located at the corner of green space. Nice spacious airy modern place with a lot of seatings specially outdoor to enjoy for summer shine. Drinks were ok so do the food popping hot. Staff were ok without smile and service good even they were busy.
Waited over 50 mins for a cold and disgusting breakfast. Had to repeatedly ask for updates on our order. Best to order at the bar if you’re planning on getting your food. Staff seem withdrawn and don’t want to know. Such a shame as the venue is beautiful.
Disappointing Visit and Poor Service at a Restaurant. The food quality was very poor especially fish and chips, battered fish was disgusting and burned. Tables ware dirty.
This is a pretty good Wetherspoons. The usual sticky tables and menus but the service is good and the food is tasty. The pub is decorated nicely and the outdoor seating area is nice enough. It'd be great if the clientele could keep the pub tidy and also not to leave rubbish and cigarette butts about the place.
The Gary Cooper Wetherspoons offers a solid dining and drinking experience with several notable positives. The food and service are above average, making it a reliable choice for a meal or a drink. The menu offers the usual range of options, and the staff are efficient and courteous, ensuring a pleasant visit.
However, be prepared for a bustling atmosphere, especially on a Friday afternoon. The pub can get quite busy, which might affect wait times slightly, but the lively environment adds to the overall charm for those who enjoy a vibrant social setting.
The building itself is modern and inviting, with a striking glass frontage that gives the pub a contemporary feel. While most of the pub is clean and well-maintained, the toilets could use some attention as they had a noticeable smell during my visit. Despite this minor issue, the overall cleanliness of the pub is good.
In summary, the Gary Cooper is a good spot for food and drinks, particularly if you appreciate good service and a lively atmosphere. Just be prepared for a bit of a crowd on busy afternoons.
