About This Pub

Ah, The King William – it's one of those pubs that just draws you in with its charming village vibe and a solid 4.7 rating that speaks volumes. I have to say, what really stands out is the atmosphere; it's got that friendly, homely buzz where you can settle in for a chat over a pint. The beers are a highlight too – they've got some cracking options like artisan ales and unusual ciders that you don't see everywhere, and the snacks are spot on for value, especially with those food wagons swinging by now and then. Prices are dead reasonable, so it's perfect for a casual night out without splashing the cash. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses; I've heard a few tales of staff being a bit short or unfriendly, which could sour the experience if you're on the receiving end. Plus, the courtyard's got those dirty ash trays that need sorting, making it less appealing for a smoke or a breather outside. Overall, it's a gem worth visiting if you're in the area, just go in with an open mind and you'll likely have a great time – fingers crossed for the friendly side of things!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely spot on – it's a proper village pub with a warm, welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home.
  • They've got a brilliant selection of beers, including some unusual ales and ciders, and even their own artisan brews which are a real treat.
  • Snacks are great value for money with a good variety, and it's nice that food wagons pop by regularly to keep things interesting.
  • Prices are really reasonable, so you can enjoy a few drinks without worrying about the cost.
  • The staff can be lovely and friendly, giving that personal touch that makes a visit memorable.
Cons
  • There have been a few grumbles about some staff being a bit rude or moody, which can put a damper on things if you're not lucky with who serves you.
  • The courtyard area could do with a clean-up, as dirty ash trays have been mentioned, making it less inviting for a quick outdoor pint.
  • Operating hours seem a tad confusing from what's listed, so it might be worth double-checking before heading out to avoid disappointment.

Lovely looking pub from the outside, shame about once you get inside Rude, moody, unfriendly, unwelcoming lady behind the bar. 1 drink was plenty, didn't want to give her any more of our money And if your going to have your dogs behind the bar, expect people to acknowledge them in a friendly way, rather than telling us, to not wind them up. SUPER RUDE and unnecessary, would never go there again or recommend.

Popped in the King William IV Pub for a quick drink and received a warm welcome from lady behind thd bar and I assume couple of locals. Has three real ales on so I had the mild, nicely kept pint. Beers was not deal. Small court yard to side of pub, only thing let them down was dirty ash trays on most table. Good size car park to the side.
