About This Pub

Ah, Iconic Bar & Grill – it's one of those places that just hits the spot when you're after a proper pub vibe with a bit of flair. From the reviews, it's clear the food really shines; folks rave about the excellent quality and how it's superb value, like nabbing a three-course meal that's an absolute bargain. The service stands out too – the team seems genuinely lovely, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which adds to that friendly, welcoming atmosphere perfect for catching up over a drink or a bite. It's especially nice for anniversaries or casual lunches, giving off that unique, relaxed energy you'd expect from a gastropub. On the downside, though, it can get a tad crowded, so you might find yourself waiting if you don't plan ahead, and if you're visiting on a Sunday, the options might not be as varied as you'd hope, with some mentioning the prevalence of roasts. Still, overall, it's a solid choice for anyone in Lowestoft looking for a good time without any fuss – I'd say give it a go and see for yourself!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely top-notch, with excellent quality and flavours that leave you wanting more, like that amazing suet pudding mentioned.
  • Service is friendly and attentive, with staff like Leanne and Sophie creating a warm, happy environment that makes you feel right at home.
  • It's great value for money, offering deals like a three-course meal for a steal, making it perfect for a casual get-together or special occasion.
  • The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, ideal for meeting up with mates, chatting, and enjoying a unique gastropub experience in Lowestoft.
Cons
  • It can get quite busy at times, which might mean waits for a table or service, especially on weekends or Sundays.
  • Options might feel a bit limited on certain days, like Sundays when roasts dominate elsewhere, so it could be tricky if you're after something different.
  • The website is pretty basic and doesn't offer much detail, so you might need to pop in or call to get the full picture on menus and availability.

My partner and I came here for our third year anniversary last night (Wednesday 29th Jan) and was shown to our seats by such a lovely waitress- we’re so sorry we didn’t get your name! She gave her recommendations to us in a fun and honest way which we thought was totally relatable! We both had the chicken burgers, one breadcrumbed and one chargrilled. The chargrilled was definitely the better option and the portions were HUUUUGE. We would’ve preferred the chips to of been cooked a bit longer as the middle were a tad on the not cooked side. Desserts lovely, just wish the treacle pudding was bigger. Decor amazing, atmosphere amazing, we definitely will be returning.

Ooo some classy dining in lowey but at a good price! Wanted something for lunch that wasn’t a roast (being a Sunday most places are roasts). Decided to try iconic and was not disappointed. We parked In the nearest car park which was about a minute walk. We were greeted with a warm welcome and attentive server and shown to our seats. We went for the grill as there was an offer of a free soft drink with every meal, (alcohol was an additional £1.50) and I went for the steak. The atmosphere is classy and vibrant and you feel like you’re in a high end establishment but you can just enjoy the classic food and drink which is a nice medium. The food as you can see is generous portions and the steak was cooked nearer well done over medium (steak is hard to master so will let them off!), chips appeared hand cut which I liked. The onion rings were sadly very greasy and I avoided a lot of the batter because of this, the salad also had an orange slice and bit of watermelon which I’m still not sure if works when you have a pile of carbs next to it, I didn’t eat these. My other half had the 3 steps to heaven and he said was nice but the sauce was a little too sweet. It’s definitely worth a visit, great for date night, friends and family alike or even alone. One thing I did like was the staff were well presented with matching uniforms and professional, they were very attentive to all customers and helped an elderly man with a walker get in an out of the building as it does have steps at the front (no step free access) which says a lot about their appreciation of customers. They said thank you for coming when we left and felt wanted and appreciated. You could lose many hours here just relaxing. ☺️

We have walked past this restaurant so many times and said "one day we will stop for lunch there". Yesterday was that day. We absolutely loved it. Three course meal for £15.95. I know...sounds too cheap. We loved all three courses. The suet pudding was amazing. Go on treat yourselves and visit Iconic. You won't be disappointed.
