About This Pub
Ah, The Horton Arms – it's one of those pubs that really pulls you in with its warm, inviting vibe, especially with those cosy log burners flickering away and a beer garden that's just begging for a sunny afternoon. I've heard from mates that the beers from JW Lees are spot on, and the food? Well, it's a step up from the usual with hearty portions that might even have you loosening your belt a notch – think delicious twists on pub classics served by staff who are genuinely chuffed to help. It's great for families or catching up with friends over events, and the location's handy with parking sorted. But, let's be straight, it's not all roses; there are whispers about the management not treating their team as well as they should, and a couple of reviews mentioned the food being a bit hit-or-miss or the toilets letting the side down. Still, with such a high rating overall, I'd say it's worth popping in for a pint and seeing for yourself – just keep an eye out for those little flaws amidst the charm.

Cons
-
Some folks have mentioned issues with management, like reports of staff not being treated well, which can put a bit of a dampener on the experience.

The food isn't always spot-on for everyone; a few have found it just okay, and there were complaints about the toilets not being up to scratch.
-
There's talk of potential fake reviews, which might make you wonder about the full picture, even if most feedback is positive.

We came here the other day when there was a bit of a rush. Safe to say we will NEVER return. The managers treat their staff terrible, especially the elder female manager. Food is mediocre at best and the toilets stunk of urine. As I’ve been told, the managers instruct employees to leave fake reviews and they’re the only think keeping this pub afloat. We used to love coming here until it’s come under new management. I can see from previous reviews they can’t take critism! Do not run an establishment if you cannot take constructive criticism. A message to the managers: treat your staff and HUMAN, and wash those loos!!!
I will not be surprised if I get a horrible reply no doubt from the elder woman who can’t keep her temper in check in front of guests!!
Very nice traditional pub, seemed very clean. There's small to medium beer garden with nice plants and well kept, clean seating. We only had a portion of chips, they were tasty and hot so that bodes well for the rest of the menu. The staff were very friendly and interactive, which i appreciate. I would feel happy to return here and try more food and just enjoy the atmosphere of the place.
Visiting family here, my cousin took us to their local. Great food, great service and good drinks. What more can a man ask for?
Wear your stretchy pants!!
Huge portions served by knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Menu was a happy surprise, a twist in the pubgrub norm. We had the gnochi, the tandori chicken and some sides
Easy 5 stars
We visited today, for my birthday meal, and it was beautiful. Food was amazing, and the staff were so lovely. Definitely be back again in the near future! 🥰
