About This Pub

Ah, The Hunt Lane Tavern – it's one of those unassuming spots in Oldham that you might pop into for a quick pint and end up staying longer than planned. From the reviews I've seen, it's got that classic pub charm going for it, with staff who really make an effort to greet you warmly and create a relaxed atmosphere. The food stands out as a real winner; think hearty, generous portions that hit the spot, especially if you're tucking into something like the loaded fries or a pizza. And let's not forget the ale on draft – it's decent and won't cost you an arm and a leg, which is always a plus for a casual night out. They've even got some entertainment lined up now and then, like a talented young singer that adds a bit of buzz to the place. It's also spot on for gatherings, with a function room that's reasonably priced and perfect for occasions like wakes. But, to keep it real, it's not all sunshine and roses. A few folks have mentioned the music being a tad overwhelming, which can drown out conversations and spoil the cosy feel. Service-wise, it seems to depend on the day – sometimes it's smooth sailing, but other times the team looks stretched, leading to delays or mix-ups with orders. Overall, if you're in the area and fancy a laid-back spot for good grub and a chat, I'd say give it a go; it's got more hits than misses, but just temper your expectations for a flawless experience.

Absolute cracking little find, exactly what a good pub lunch should be. We got a very warm welcome from bar staff, a decent menu, ale on draft and some fabulous entertainment from a young lad singing along to some backing tracks. Portions are very generous, highly recommend the loaded fries and the hunters gammon.

Average pub. I can think of nothing to recommend it. Even the background music was too loud which just ruined the atmosphere. One guy serving who struggled to deliver food to tables and serve at the bar.

Nice pub with some decent beer and cost effective. Friendly locals drink here also.

Last time I came here a year ago it was 5⭐️ however tonight as a family of 5 it was very poor, the food was nice but 4 of us had eaten our food before the last person got his pizza. However when ordering we were told there was only 1 pizza base left (we wanted 2) we cancelled one of the pizzas and ordered something else however the pizza they cancelled was the wrong one so someone ended up with the pizza they didn’t want - no point complaining as it was the last one, and didn’t want to order something else as everyone had already eaten. they then forgot the chicken strips and we had to remind them when the wrong pizza came out, the chicken strips were very fresh so clearly forgot to make them. The staff were friendly but service is definitely shocking. Won’t be coming here again.

We used the function Room upstairs on Thurs for a Funeral wake which was more than we expected. We chose to have the hot buffet menu that they provided and was perfect for the occasion with plenty on offer and included tea and coffee and access to the small bar. Pricing was reasonable for the room hire/food and drinks. Afterwards we spent the afternoon/early evening in the main bar area, with our older kids/young adults enjoyed the pool table. Staff were very friendly and accommodating for our group. Will definitely recommend
