About This Pub
Ah, The Hope & Anchor – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, doesn't it? From the reviews I've seen, folks are raving about the food; it's hearty, well-presented stuff with big portions that leave you satisfied, and they've nailed things like gluten-free choices and even those classic Sunday roasts that are cooked to perfection. The prices are spot on too, with some cracking deals that make it ideal for a budget-friendly lunch or dinner without skimping on quality. Service-wise, it's all smiles and efficiency – even when it's buzzing, the team keeps things running smoothly and makes sure you're looked after. On the flip side, it seems like vegetarian options are a tad limited, so if that's your thing, you might want to check the menu first. All in all, it's a solid spot for a relaxed meal or a catch-up with mates, and with those opening hours stretching into the evening most days, it's perfect for a midweek wind-down or a weekend treat.

We popped in yesterday for a lunch, it was delicious and very good value, more choice for vegetarians would be nice, great for gluten free. Everything was very nicely cooked and presented.
First time visiting today, lovely friendly service, we ordered a couple of kids parmos and a cheeseburger, plus drinks. The quality of the food was tip top and the prices were very good for the quality of the food. Absolutely lovely atmosphere and lovely little layout and decor inside. Definitely will be visiting again with family ☺️
Great food, one of the best Sunday roasts I’ve had. They were clearly very busy but told us what they had available and approx waiting time. Kept us informed the whole time,
The food was worth the wait the lamb and pork were cooked amazing.
Will definitely be back.
Such a lovely dinner, excellent service, they couldn't do enough for us. We had the 2 for £18 winter warmers deal and it was all excellent. Big portions of good food. I had the fish and chips which was excellent. My friends had the roast dinner and a pasta dish. Great variety, fresh yorkshire puds, good gravy. Well worth a visit.
Lovely winter warmers £8.95 lunches on Monday. Lovely staff, dog friendly in the bar. Definitely going back
