About This Pub
Ah, let me tell you about Bull & Dog Greatham – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local hideaway, tucked away on High Street in Hartlepool. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are the real stars here; they're helpful, cheerful, and make you feel right at home, whether you're popping in for a quick drink or sorting out a small party. The food gets plenty of praise too – think delicious homemade pies and well-catered spreads that leave you satisfied and smiling. It's got that quintessential village charm, ideal for a relaxed chat over a pint, and with such a high rating, it's no wonder people keep coming back. On the flip side, though, it can get a bit chilly outdoors in the evenings, so bring a jacket if you're planning to linger. The space is cosy but limited, which might not suit bigger groups, and the varying opening times could catch you out if you're not prepared. All in all, it's a solid choice for a no-fuss night out, especially if you're after good company and a friendly atmosphere without the big-city hustle.

-
With a solid 4.6 rating, it's clear folks leave with a smile, appreciating the overall experience and the care that goes into running the place.
Cons
-
It can get a bit nippy in the evenings, even with the cover, so you might want to wrap up warm if you're heading out after dark.
-
The space is on the smaller side, which works well for intimate dos but might feel a tad cramped if you're planning something larger.
-
Operating hours seem a touch inconsistent from what's listed, so it's worth double-checking to avoid any disappointment on arrival.
-
There's not much online presence, like no website, which makes it trickier to get the latest info or book ahead if you're keen.

Myself and my husband were invited to my eldest granddaughters 21st birthday party room was only small but ideal for smaller parties survice was spot on really beautiful spread catered by the bull & dog food was delicious
I particularly enjoyed my orderve of fahgrah with caviar, this was followed by a delicious fillet steak with a peppercorn sauce, fondant buttered potatoes, magic mushrooms, and sprinkled with a fine layer of Angel dust.
My desert was Jaynes homemade Apple pie with Italian Icea creameo! I washed it all down with two gallons of the finest Coors Lager.
I was immediately sick all over the seats and floor but Becky and all the staff were more than happy to mop it all up for which I was enternaly grateful, Highly recommended
Great staff, very helpful and happy. Well organized system. Under cover, but get rapped up its still cold on an evening.
