About This Pub

You know, when you step into The Hop Inn, it's like walking into a cosy corner where everything's about enjoying good company and even better drinks. The team there really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome, chatting away about their fantastic range of real ales, ciders, and craft brews – it's a treat if you're into that sort of thing, and they've got events lined up that keep the place buzzing. What I love most is the laid-back setting without any distractions, letting you focus on a proper natter. On the flip side, it's a shame it's shut on Mondays and doesn't kick off until the afternoon on other days, so it might not suit everyone for a spontaneous visit. Still, if you're after an authentic pub experience with knowledgeable service and a bit of character, this one's a winner – I'd say give it a go and see for yourself!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly welcoming and make you feel right at home, just like chatting with old mates.
  • A cracking selection of real ales, ciders, craft beers, gins, and whiskies – perfect for anyone who loves exploring new flavours.
  • The relaxed vibe without TVs or slot machines creates a peaceful spot for proper conversations and enjoying your drink.
  • Knowledgeable team offers table service and shares insights on the drinks, making every visit feel personal and engaging.
  • They host regular events and tastings, adding a fun twist and keeping things fresh for repeat visits.
Cons
  • It's closed on Mondays, which can be a bit of a nuisance if you're keen for a mid-week pint.
  • The drinks focus is quite niche, so if you're after mainstream options like lager, it might not hit the spot.
  • Opening hours are a tad limited on weekdays, starting late in the afternoon, which could rule out a quick lunch stop.

Just perfect! What a lovely experience, just sorry we live in Hull! We spent 6th June tasting various ales, wow! We met some lovely people and as always, were made to feel very welcome by the team 😀 Huge thanks for supplying empty bottles for our fundraising activities. Very much appreciated 🥰 Very best wishes to you all XXX

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Perfect Wedding Day Pit Stop – Full of Love and Cider! The Hop Inn will always have a special place in our hearts! After our wedding ceremony at Langtons House and before the reception at Ardleigh House, we had a pre-arranged little “secret” stop at The Hop Inn — just the two of us, newly married, taking 10 quiet minutes to breathe, reflect, and raise a pint of their amazing Apple Pie cider together. It was our tiny slice of calm on a whirlwind day. Well, imagine our surprise (and theirs!) when 12 of our wedding guests had the exact same idea and showed up too! It turned into the most heartwarming, impromptu mini celebration — hugs, laughter, and cheers all around. We’ve always loved The Hop Inn, and it meant so much to include it in our big day. The team were friendly, welcoming, and totally embraced the unexpected moment with us. Honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect. Great drinks, great vibes, and a memory we’ll treasure forever. Thank you to everyone at The Hop Inn — you were a beautiful part of a beautiful day. 💛🍻

Greeted on arrival by knowledgeable staff and shown the options, had a lovely selection of drinks. Hosts knew when we wanted to order and were available at our table before we needed to get up and go to the bar, even though it was busy. Well priced and will return.

I've recently discovered The Hop Inn and tried it out today, for the first time. Whether your on your own or part of a group, the staff make you feel very welcome. A great selection of drinks...not just ales. The staff go out of their way to let you know what you're drinking and which independent brewer it has come from. Highly recommend and I'll certainly be back! Cheers

Visiting from SE London and meeting up with a friend and this is one of the friendliest bars I’ve ever visited. Owners introduced themselves on entry and table service ensued with great discussion around the beers available. A small range of lovely Belgian beers was available this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed. Can’t fault this place in any way.
