About This Pub
Ah, The Holyrood 9A – what a gem in the heart of Edinburgh! From the moment you step in, it's got that warm, inviting feel that's perfect for grabbing a pint after a day of exploring the city. The food really steals the show; I've heard rave reviews about their breakfasts and burgers, with folks raving about how satisfying and well-prepared everything is. And let's not forget the staff – they're an absolute delight, going the extra mile to sort out any little preferences, which makes the whole experience that bit more enjoyable. It's also brilliant that they've got family-friendly touches, like allowing under 5s and having changing facilities, so it's not just for the usual crowd. On the flip side, it does get packed out sometimes, so planning ahead is a smart move to skip any queues. Overall, with such glowing feedback, it's a solid choice if you're after a relaxed spot with good grub and a friendly chat – I'd say it's well worth popping in for a proper Scottish pub experience.

Fantastic breakfast in the morning, and fantastic burgers and drinks in the evening. One of my favorites stops when I visit this beautiful city.
Ask for Shamus. Haggis bonbons, burgers and breakfast were all delicious. Ate here twice.
I booked a table beforehand so we didn’t have to wait to be seated when we arrived. The food was very tasty and the staff was very attentive. We asked for the salad’s sauce to be served in a different recipient (one of us didn’t liked cheese) and they didn’t have any objection.
It’s a nice place to have dinner at!

If you’re looking for a classic Scottish pub for a pint and great eats, The Holyrood 9A is your place.
After a day of being tourists around the great city of Edinburgh, we needed a pint and a burger. A local recommended The Holyrood 9A and that rec was spot on. The vibe is fantastic and the server’s suggestions for beer was also well done.
We started with the haggis bon bons, which were crispy and fantastic, and finished with venison and board burgers, which were cooked to perfection and served with crispy fries. The food was excellent.
Overall, we had a great time at a great pub. If you’re in Edinburgh and fancy a pint and some eats, do yourself a favor and get just 1 block off the tourist track and experience a real Scottish pub. 5 stars!
As a tourist to Edinburgh, I was shocked about the under 5 rule that doesn't allow youths in lots of pubs. But Holyrood 9A has a changing table and allows under 5s. While I was there multiple issues with plenty of kids were eating. The food was great and the drink selection was nice
