About This Pub
Ah, let me tell you about Brass Monkey on Drummond Street – it's one of those pubs that just sticks in your mind after a visit. The staff are absolute gems, always up for a chat and making sure everyone feels at ease, which really sets the tone for a great night out. They've got this fantastic range of local beers and whiskies that are spot on, whether you're after something crafty or a classic dram. And then there's the unique touches, like the movie room adorned with posters from all your favourite cult films – it's brilliant for kicking back with friends or even sneaking in a bit of gaming. The atmosphere is spot on too, with events like quiz nights that get the place buzzing and free comedy during the Fringe, which adds a real Edinburgh flair. All in all, it's smashing value for what you get, without feeling like you're skimping on quality. On the flip side, it does tend to fill up quickly, especially in the evenings, so you might end up jostling for space if you don't get there early. And if you're in the mood for a peaceful pint, it could feel a tad lively at times. Still, I'd say it's well worth seeking out for anyone looking for a proper pub experience in the city – honest, it's got that warm, welcoming heart that makes you want to come back.

Neat bar with extra appeal for film lovers. Nice draft selection, with some good whiskies as well. Plenty of unique spaces to lounge or game, and a movie room with some great posters of cult and classic flicks. Great music too.
Amazing value considering the price of drinks at the moment. Lovely location inside and out with a sofa area with loads of film posters. Really nice.
Warm, welcoming pub where we escaped the cold. Adorned with classic movie posters and a lounge with projector for movie nights.
We returned a couple of days later for their quiz and the place was buzzing!
Friendly staff, comfortable seating and great selection of drinks.
This might be my favourite boozer in Edinburgh….
Local bar vibe during the day, busy in the evening with a mixed crowd enjoying either the cool tunes they play in the bar area, or watching a movie in their “cinema” room.
Good times.
Great local place for a pint. We stopped by for an afternoon break. Great selection on craft and large brewery beers. Reasonable prices and very friendly staff. Atmosphere is authentic Edinburgh and welcoming. Different rooms offer different feels and activities. I as afraid to ask what the room full of couches was for :).
