About This Pub

Ah, The Highlander in Northfield – it's one of those local pubs that really tries to get it right, you know? From what I've gathered from the chats online, the staff stand out as the real stars; they're warm and attentive, making every visit feel like catching up with friends rather than just another stop. It's got that family-friendly charm with events lined up for all ages, and the prices won't break the bank, which is always a win on a night out. Plus, with parking sorted and everything kept nice and tidy, it's easy to see why some folks keep coming back for more. On the flip side, though, it's not all rosy – a couple of reviews mention feeling a bit out of place or even intimidated, suggesting that the atmosphere can vary depending on who's around or how the day's going. Overall, if you're after a straightforward, affordable spot for a pint and a chat, it's worth a try, but maybe pop in first to get the feel of the place before making it your regular haunt. It's got that classic pub spirit, but like any local, it has its ups and downs.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – friendly, welcoming, and really make you feel at home, like chatting with old mates.
  • It's a family-friendly spot with plenty of events on offer, making it a great place for a relaxed get-together.
  • Prices are spot on for a good night out, keeping things affordable without skimping on the fun.
  • There's parking at the back, which is a real bonus when you're popping in after a drive.
  • The atmosphere is cosy and comfortable, with clean facilities that add to the overall pleasant experience.
Cons
  • A few folks have mentioned feeling a bit intimidated or unwelcome at times, which is a shame as it can put a damper on things.
  • It seems like the place might have gone downhill recently for some, with mixed vibes that don't always live up to the positives.

It used to be ok in there, but it's gone downhill since..people think they can intimidate you and made to feel unwelcome..so i won't be recommending it to my friends or family..and proberly won't be waisting my money in there or taxis getting there again..ashame to as i speak and get on with a couple of people in there..even 1 star is to good for this place!!

Having driven 258 miles, I was looking for a pit stop before going to work. Lovely cool fruit juice with ice; very friendly staff and clientele; spotlessly clean facilities. Even allowed me to charge my laptop and send an urgent document! Very grateful and feeling refreshed. Thank you so much.
