About This Pub

Ah, The Cambridge – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a reliable old friend in Longbridge, Birmingham, with its modern vibe and easy-going atmosphere making it ideal for a casual catch-up or a family dinner. From what I've gathered from the buzz around, the staff really shine; they're attentive and go the extra mile, like Danielle or Izzy sorting out everything from allergies to keeping the kids happy, which makes the whole experience feel personal and enjoyable. The food's generally a winner too, with hearty options and those tempting deals that let you tuck into classics without worrying about the cost, and it's all set in a place with handy perks like a beer garden for sunnier days. On the flip side, it's not perfect – a few folks have said some dishes are just alright, not quite hitting the highs you'd hope for, and while it's got a solid reputation, it might not be the spot for something fancy or if you're after that wow factor every visit. All in all, if you're looking for a straightforward, budget-friendly pint and a bite in a welcoming setting, it's definitely worth popping in; just keep expectations realistic for a typical pub outing.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – friendly, attentive, and always ready with a smile, making every visit feel warm and welcoming, just like chatting with old mates.
  • It's a cracking spot for families, with a lively atmosphere that's perfect for a relaxed meal or a quick pint, and they've got great facilities like a beer garden and plenty of parking.
  • The food is solid and affordable, with options like tasty roasts and deals for just a tenner, so you can enjoy a proper feed without breaking the bank.
  • They've got a good vibe overall, open from early morning till late, and it's conveniently located near the town centre for an easy stop-off after shopping or a day out.
Cons
  • While most dishes hit the spot, some meals are just okay rather than outstanding, like one review mentioned the lamb and samosa being fine but not memorable.
  • With an overall rating around the 4 mark, it might not wow everyone every time, so if you're after something truly exceptional, it could fall a bit short on consistency.

Exceptional Service and Great Atmosphere! I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Cambridge, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience especially thanks to our waitress, Danielle. From the moment we arrived, Danielle made us feel incredibly welcome. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly without ever being intrusive. Throughout the evening, she struck the perfect balance of professionalism and personal charm, offering thoughtful recommendations and checking in at just the right moments. The food was fantastic and the service, thanks to Danielle was truly exceptional. If you’re looking for a place with great food and even better hospitality, I highly recommend paying a visit. Can’t wait to go back !!

Went for dinner at the Cambridge, the food was decent and our waitress was really good. Danielle was very patient with the children in our group and nothing was too much trouble for her. She greeted us with a smile, checked for allergies and ensured we had everything we requested throughout our visit. Excellent service.

Came here for dinner with my partner, and we were waited on by Izzy who was fantastic, polite, and helped with any queries we had. Would highly recommend for the food, if not also for the brilliant staff. Izzy made our visit extremely comfortable, and we will be coming again definately. What a lovely place to dine. Atmosphere was relaxing, and really good facilities!! Highly recommend!!

The service was fine and the food was OK. I had the lamb and samosa dish. My mum had the ale pie and loved it. My man had scampi and chips. The sticky toffee pudding was lovely! And the non alcoholic cocktail was nice too!
