About This Pub
You know, chatting about The Hideout in Scarborough, it's one of those places that just feels like a friendly local gem where you can pop in for a bite and a bevvy without any fuss. I love how they've nailed the community vibe, with staff who are always up for a chat and quick to help out, whether it's menu advice or explaining local parking. The food's a real highlight – think juicy burgers, crispy fries, and pizzas that hit the spot, plus they've got loads of options for different diets, making it easy for groups with varied tastes. It's spot on for families too, with kids' games and a welcoming setup for dogs, which is brilliant if you're out and about with the gang. Events like the quiz nights add a fun twist, and the free Wi-Fi means you can linger a bit longer. On the downside, I've heard a few mates say that some dishes were a tad spicy for the youngsters, and not every meal lived up to expectations, which is a shame when the portions are so generous. Overall, it's got that solid 4.6 rating for a reason – worth checking out for a relaxed Scarborough stop, but keep those preferences in mind for the best experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros

They've got a fantastic range of food, from fresh burgers and pizzas to plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, so there's something for everyone.
-
It's brilliantly family and dog-friendly, with high chairs, games for the kids, and even water for your furry mate – perfect for a relaxed outing.
-
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, like a proper community hub, with free Wi-Fi, charging points, and fun events like the monthly Sunday quiz night.
-
Prices are reasonable for the generous portions, and it's open most days with breakfast available on weekends and after gigs, adding great flexibility.
Cons
-
Some dishes, like the pepperoni, can be a bit too spicy for kids or those with sensitive tastes, which might put off the little ones.
-
The food quality isn't always spot-on for everyone; a few folks weren't as impressed with their meals, even if others absolutely loved them.
-
Breakfast is only served on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and after certain events, so it might not suit if you're after an early start mid-week.

Found this excellent place when visiting the area. It was quiet mid-afternoon but still had a nice atmosphere. Staff provided me with a parking disc & explained the disc parking scheme available in the area.
The staff were all incredibly helpful & friendly, explaining the menu, making helpful recommendations, including an excellent alcohol-free beer, as I was driving.
Food was fantastic. We had the Boro burger & parmesan fries, and Jam Slam burger with rosemary fries. Everything was fresh, hot, & tasted great. And that Zing sauce! Wish I could buy that in a bottle!
Food & service were top class. Will definitely return when visiting this area ( wish I was more local! ).
Visited whilst in Scarborough with the family for the weekend (2 adults, 2 teens and our family pooch). Immediately seated and asked if we wanted water for the doggo 🥰 The chicken strips and burgers were all excellent. I highly recommend the extra crispy fries 😋 Dssserts were lovely, too. Good value for money, excellent service 👏 VERY impressed. Thank you 😊
First visit to The Hideout and it was very enjoyable. Six of us plus a large Golden Retriever were welcomed with a smile and shown immediately to our table.
The burgers, pizzas and sides were all excellent. Sadly, as the portions were generous, we did not have room for desserts. A good variety of drinks for all the family completed our order.
Despite the restaurant being exceptionally busy on a beautiful, sunny evening the service from Megan and Helen was friendly and efficient. We had a great time - thank you.
What a lovely meal we've had, the portions are fantastically sized, the prices are reasonable, the kids stayed engaged and for picky little buggers they really enjoyed the food. Very good gluten free selection too. Really accommodating staff. Very happy.
We enjoyed the atmosphere in this quirky restaurant, the menu choices were great and the staff were lovely unfortunately we weren't that impressed with the food itself, to be fair though we were with another couple who really enjoyed there's. The kids found the pepperoni was too spicy but the burger got a big thumbs up. The mac and Cheese was alright but a bit stodgy. So to sum up, lovely place nice staff and we had mixed reviews on the food so give it a go.
