About This Pub

Ah, THE HEATON – it's one of those pubs that really grows on you once you've popped in for a bite. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this great selection of hearty meals, like a fabulous Sunday roast with tender beef and loads of fresh veg, all served up piping hot and quickly. I love how it's such good value too; you can get a decent meal without spending a fortune, and the atmosphere is just right – think relaxed music, nicely done interiors, and even outdoor spots if the weather's playing ball. Plus, with a big car park out back, it's easy to swing by after a drive. But, and I say this as a mate giving straight advice, it's not all smooth sailing. There have been a few grumbles about food not turning up as ordered, like a salad missing key bits, and the way they handle it isn't always spot on, which could leave you a tad miffed. Still, with an overall rating hovering around 4.3, it's clear most folks have a good time, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area – just keep expectations realistic and maybe double-check your order when it arrives. All in all, it's a solid choice for a casual get-together or a relaxed meal.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think tender roast beef, fresh veggies, and tasty ciabattas that hit the spot for a Sunday lunch or casual bite.
  • Great value for your money, with meals like a full lunch coming in under £20 and leaving you feeling satisfied without breaking the bank.
  • Friendly and efficient service; the staff are quick to serve and make you feel welcome, which really adds to the relaxed vibe.
  • A lovely atmosphere with chilled music, well-presented interiors, and outdoor seating options, plus a large car park that's a bonus for drivers.
  • Plenty of drink choices and a good selection of menus for lunch, evenings, and Sundays, making it versatile for different visits.
Cons
  • Occasional mix-ups with orders, like missing ingredients in dishes, which can leave you a bit disappointed and frustrated.
  • Not the best at handling complaints on the spot, as one experience showed with a reduced-price dish that wasn't what was expected without prior notice.
  • It's located on a busy main road, so while the noise isn't always an issue, it might not feel as peaceful as some other spots.

Veg moussaka not available, so asked for Cob salad. Did receive large tomato & avocado salad, which looked nice BUT no egg, bacon or chicken, which discovered as dug down. I told v young waitress & she said they had reduced price to £11. I said why didn't u tell me when served it!!!! I not happy.

Just called in by chance and glad we did , sat outside and both had ciabatta with chips / salad and coleslaw. Mine was goats cheese and red pepper and the other was steak all for just over £20 , would recommend and will return

Came here for a random pub lunch. Large car park around the back. Inside was very well presented and we found a great selection of drinks. We had 2 courses from the lunch menu and it was all absolutely amazing! We Will definitely be coming back again. Great staff. Great atmosphere/chilled music selection and great food and drink.

Sat on the busy main road (noise not an issue) amongst a row of shops. Ic brought me here for my first visit in 5 years. Large open plan pub with rear beer patios and large car park. The pub seems to have an excellent selection of lunch, evening and Sunday food menus. Icarus wants to return to try the duck special or Sunday roast. Only downside was just one real ale..John Willy Lees Manchester Pale Ale. Ic judged it a good pint. Food can be served everywhere but there is a specific dining area to the rear for proper celebrations. Very pleasant.
