About This Pub

Ah, The Harrogate Inn – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the food really stands out; folks rave about how tasty and piping hot it is, whether you're grabbing a bite in the bar or settling in for something more. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which gives it that warm, community feel. Location-wise, it's spot on – dead easy to get to and right in the heart of Harrogate, so you can pop in after exploring the town or attending an event at the conference centre. If you're thinking of staying over, the rooms are comfy and clean, which is a nice bonus for turning a quick drink into a mini getaway. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses; ordering at the bar might feel a bit casual for some, and I've heard a few grumbles about the seating being awkwardly low, leaving you shifting about uncomfortably. The layout can be a bit of a labyrinth too, and the entrance is sneaky easy to drive past. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening with mates, but keep those little quirks in mind for a balanced night out – I'd say it's worth a visit for the good vibes and grub, as long as you're up for a bit of that pub charm with its imperfections.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food here is spot on – it's hot, tasty, and really hits the spot, especially for a Sunday lunch or a quick bite in the bar.
  • Staff are always friendly and helpful, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • It's in a brilliant location in Harrogate, just a stone's throw from the conference centre and all the local amenities, perfect for a night out.
  • The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean if you're staying over, which adds to the appeal for a relaxed evening.
  • Parking is convenient and right out front, even if you have to pop a few coins in the machine.
Cons
  • It feels more like a pub setup than a fancy restaurant, with ordering at the bar, which might not suit everyone looking for a more formal dine-in experience.
  • Some of the seating, like those booth areas, can be a bit uncomfortable with tables that are too high for the chairs, even if you're on the taller side.
  • The place can be a tad maze-like with all its rooms, so you might end up wandering a bit more than you'd like.
  • Watch out for the entrance – it's easy to miss if you're not paying attention.
  • A few things like the shower cubicles in the rooms are on the small side, which could be a minor nuisance if you're planning an overnight stay.

Had Sunday lunch. Food was good - hot & tasty. Felt more like eating in a pub rather than a hotel restaurant, because of how it's set out. Have to order food at the bar. Sat in a booth-type section, & seats were too low for table. Had to sit on a cushion, & I'm quite tall.

Lovely hotel in a great location. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food in the bar was very tasty 😋. The room was very comfortable and clean, there are a lot of rooms at this hotel so it can be a bit of a maze. Parking is good, but the entrance can easily be missed. A number of entrances, so anyone with mobility problems can easily enter and exit 👍👍👍

Stunning hotel right by Harrogate Conference Centre and easy walking distance of all Harrogate amenities. The help yourself buffet breakfast had plenty of both hot and cold options. Room very comfortable.

For our wedding, we reserved approximately 50 rooms at the Harrogate Inn for our guests over a two-night stay. We selected the hotel due to the quality of the rooms at a competitive price. The rooms were well furnished, comfortable and spotless. We made several special requests - including the delivery of personalised letters and gifts to each guest’s room, as well as coordination for large group coach arrivals and departures. We had the pleasure of working with Dan, the manager of the Harrogate Inn, whose professionalism, warmth, and efficiency was truly exceptional. From the outset, Dan was reassuring, attentive and proactive, ensuring every detail was handled seamlessly. He even arranged a dedicated check-in desk to make our guests’ arrival as smooth as possible. The team at the Harrogate Inn went above and beyond to welcome our guests with their hospitality. Their support played a meaningful role in creating a wonderful and memorable experience for everyone. We are deeply grateful - thank you!

I stayed in the cosy double, good sized room for one, with a cosy (slightly small) double bed. En suite as usual, all great, except my shower cubical was a very tight fit, a little small. Convenient parking located right out front of the hotel and bar area, you do have to pay at the machine though. No receptionist, self check in, which is nice and easy to use. If you select for your room not to be made up, you get a free drink at the bar! Make sure you select this option at check in! No table service in the restaurant and bar area, you have to go to the bar to order everything. Stunning bar area though, really sophisticated and stylish, a very nice place to spend time!
