About This Pub
Oh, what a treat The Hare & Hounds is – it's one of those pubs that just wraps you up in its cosy charm from the get-go. You'll find the food spot on, with hearty, home-cooked dishes that burst with flavour, and the staff go above and beyond to make sure you're well looked after, always with a smile and a chat. It's brilliant for popping in with the dog for a pint in the beer garden on a sunny afternoon, and they've got a cracking range of drinks to keep things flowing. On the flip side, it does fill up quickly, so it's worth planning ahead to avoid any hassle, and if you're keen on a proper evening out, the kitchen closing at 8pm might cut things a tad short. All in all, it's a proper gem in Middleton for anyone after a relaxed spot with good grub and friendly faces, but just keep those little niggles in mind for the best experience.

7 of us went out to eat . The staff were brilliant. The food was amazing , I had the blackened cajun chicken with pasta which was tender and full of flavour. We also had lamb shank ,hunters chicken, steak and ale pie all of it was absolutely beautiful. The beer was cold the food was fresh and tasty. The price was excellent and the staff were amazing. We would definitely go back and would highly recommend .
Love the Hare and Hounds pub. The staff are welcoming and really professional. They remember your drinks orders and are attentive.
The environment is lovely, tastefully decorated. The pub also has a lovely and private beer garden for sunny days.
The menu is updated regularly and there are always specials on offer. The regular menu including scampi, cheese and onion pie, and goats cheese sandwich, I highly recommend.
This time I tried the goats cheese lasagne with salad and fries it was delicious. There is a wide selection of drinks and cocktails, reasonably priced.
There is a function room that can be hired for events and family parties. Good selection of buffet food or meals from the menu can be catered for.
Without a doubt the best pub in Middleton. Go and check it out.
Hare and hounds is our local and go to for a nice meal out, the food is always 10/10 for me and all the staff are so friendly every time we go. The owners are lovely and really hands on. It’s dog friendly as well so we can take our pup for a nice evening out - they even cooked a bit of chicken for her once on request - love this pub, the food, the staff and the atmosphere, highly recommend
Visted the hare and hounds yesterday, party of three adults.
On entrance it was a welcoming pub, despite being buisy they managed to fit us in, the place is really clean and friendly.
The place felt very relaxing and well kept lovely decor, plenty to look at while your waiting for your food.
The staff did say there would be a wait for the food as they were buisy but to be fair the wait time was expected.
My mates enjoyed their food , but let me tell you I had the cheese pie and it was sooooo good possible the best cheese pie I've had for a while, three cheeses it had , and the pastry was perfect, and them chips absolutely bob on perfection.
We did travel from leigh and was well worth a visit, I am going to visit again as that pie was so good.
Staff were nice not pushy or standing over you.
