About This Pub

Ah, The Gardeners Arms – it's one of those unassuming gems in Middleton that really grows on you once you're inside. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the place has this lovely, homely feel with staff who go out of their way to make you welcome; it's like chatting with old mates behind the bar. The drinks selection is a highlight too – they've got craft beers that folks rave about, served up in creative ways, which is always a treat for a good night out. It's clearly a favourite among locals, with that community spirit shining through in the high ratings. On the flip side, it's a pity they don't do food, so if you're hoping for a bite to go with your pint, you might need to plan ahead or head elsewhere. Plus, the crowd can have its eccentric moments, which adds character but might not suit everyone, especially if you're after a quiet evening. All in all, it's a solid spot for a casual get-together, and with its consistent opening hours, it's easy to swing by – just keep in mind it might take a bit of effort to find if you're new to the area. I'd say it's worth a visit for the atmosphere alone, as long as you're up for a no-frills pub experience.

  • It doesn't serve food, which might leave you a bit peckish if you're after a meal with your drink.
  • The crowd can be a tad unpredictable at times, with some quirky characters that might not be everyone's cup of tea.
  • It's a bit tucked away and hidden, so you could easily miss it if you're not familiar with the area.
  • No website or online presence means it's tricky to get more info before you visit, which is a shame.

The most hidden of the Middleton Junction pubs, this is a tidily kept affair with bar to the right overlooking two rooms at the front, and a pool table area somewhat further back. All very neatly decorated in a comfortable style. Recommended.
