About This Pub
Ah, The Handbridge in Chester – it's one of those pubs that really grows on you once you step inside, with its lively events and a team that's genuinely chuffed to see you. I've heard from mates that the live music nights are a highlight, where young bands belt out tunes and you might just discover the next big thing; it's got that community feel that's hard to beat. The food's another winner, especially their breakfasts and themed specials, which come highly recommended for a hearty feed. But, let's be straight, it's not all roses – some have had a moan about dogs roaming around, which can make for an uncomfortable visit if you're not a fan, and the beer garden could use a bit of TLC to make it more inviting. Prices and signs can be a bit confusing too, and if you're popping by for a quick breakfast, double-check they're open as there have been mix-ups. Overall, it's a solid spot for a relaxed catch-up over a pint, but it'd be even better with a few tweaks to smooth out the rough patches. If you're in the area, I'd say give it a go and see for yourself – it's got that warm pub charm, just with a couple of things to keep in mind.

It's open every day from 9 AM to 11 PM, which is handy if you're after a relaxed spot for a pint or a bite whenever the mood strikes.
Cons
-
Some folks aren't keen on dogs being allowed inside, as it can put a damper on things for those who aren't animal lovers.
-
The beer garden could do with a bit of a refresh – it's a nice idea, but it feels a tad neglected at the moment.
-
Service can be a bit slow on occasion, and there are inconsistencies with prices and signs that might leave you scratching your head.
-
The place has a few rough edges that need sorting, like keeping opening times up to date so you don't turn up to a locked door.

Nice little place to eat, drink and relax....BUT....great shame about dogs being allowed. Very off putting & dog owners very inconsiderate who think the world and her mother like dogs....WE & MANY OTHERS....DON'T!
Can't see us going back. Pity really.
Pretty quiet mid afternoon, we just had a couple of beers in beer garden, which needs sprucing up a bit to be honest,, ate there many times in the past, always decent food,,
According to social media says they do brekky even seen to have a takeaway menu on just eat. Walked there when said was open and all locked up. Please update accordingly it’s annoying when come out of way.
It was okay, the owners seem friendly. Service was slow and prices on sign difference to indoor menus plus other signs inside said different things,so a bit confusing. But can be easily rectified and owner honoured the price. Place needs tlc but with a few small changes could be great .
The staff and landlord were welcoming, and very interactive with their customers. We were only there for a long weekend and went in there for breakfast...and a couple of beers later on...and the manager always came up to us and greeted us. there was lots of choice for breakfast which was very nice. It is also dog friendly so win win for us 😀
