About This Pub
You know, when I think about The Griffin, it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a casual catch-up with mates in North London. It's got this lovely, unpretentious feel with a traditional bar that's all about that cosy, rustic charm – imagine sinking into a seat by the fireplace with a cold drink in hand. The food's spot on too; we're talking hearty pub grub and a proper Sunday roast that leaves you satisfied without breaking the bank. And let's not forget the outdoor areas – that huge garden is an absolute winner on a sunny day, and the heated spots make it usable even when the weather's playing up. The team there are absolute stars, always up for a chat and making sure you're looked after, which really adds to the friendly atmosphere. On the flip side, it's not without its downsides; I heard from a few that the lack of an accessible toilet could be a real issue for some, and there might be the odd moment where you have to chase up on small details like cutlery. All in all, with such positive buzz from the crowd – averaging a solid 4.2 out of 5 – it's a place I'd recommend for a good time, as long as you keep those little niggles in mind.

I have been to this place multiple times. The barbers are really friendly and can help with any style as you ask.
I asked them to make a haircut as per a picture and a shave, which they did well.
Will definitely visit them again.
Was in here on Friday, lunch time. It looks quite small from the outside but once inside it has lots of areas to go. It’s like a tardis.
There was no accessible toilet but it does have toilets outside that are a single room, which would work as they are quite spacious. Although not sure a wheelchair would fit in.
It was quite quiet when I visited which was great at the time. The staff were amazingly helpful and accommodating.
I get the impression it comes to life in the evenings and at weekends, which I would love to see.
Our baked Camembert gooed with creamy Camembertness and a gentle hint of rosemary. The firmness of the generous sourdough bread made good scooping and dipping tools. Though we had to ask for cutlery to make eating easier. There is too much cheese to only use bread as eating utensils!
One time, a coaching inn for people travelling north from London, The Griffin has long been a pub keeping some old-world charm.
I warmed my teddy fur by one of the open fireplaces whilst watching Arsenal beat Aston Villa in the Premiership on a large TV screen above one fireplace!
Wall paneling, panel doors, and stone floor lend themselves to avoiding this friendly bei
A grade 2 listed building at the back used to be stables. We didn’t see this or the garden. The large coaching arch with its big doors sits to the right of the building face.
One of the bar staff politely and discreetly asked Mummy Debra to not take so many photos as people might feel uncomfortable. Though when Arsenal beat Aston Villa, four men on the table next to ours wanted to be photographed with me. We explained what had been said. The barmaid overheard and said it was fine as they wanted the photo. She ended up taking the photograph herself so Mummy Debra could be in it too! Thank you!
This is a dog-friendly pub and there are doggy treats for the canine punters!
Not overly modernised but had dashes of mod cons.
Such a nice, easy going pub. The service is always outstanding as the staff are so lovely and always willing to help.
Good spot for a family Sunday roast. Opted for the trio and it hit the spot! Thank you
They have a huge and lovely outside area, very quaint, colourful and enjoyable. I think pictures speak for themselves! 🌷
Upon entering the pub we were given a very clear explanation of their covid and safety rules 🙂
They’ve also implemented an online ordering system (to avoid physical menus) which we thought is pretty organised and the service was really fast.
Oh they also have a huge screen for any football fans.
Definitely would highly recommend this pub and would go there regularly if we lived nearby.
