About This Pub
Ah, The Greyhound Inn – it's one of those pubs that just warms your heart with its genuine, down-to-earth charm. From what folks have shared, the staff are absolute stars, always ready with a smile and eager to help, whether it's recommending a walk or pulling you into a game of bingo. The food is a real highlight too; think hearty pub grub that's not only delicious but also great value for money, paired with a solid selection of drinks that cater to all tastes. It's got that quintessential English countryside feel, making it ideal for a relaxed catch-up with mates after exploring the area. On the flip side, though, the reviews are a bit dated, with the last ones from a few years back, so I'm not entirely sure if it's still buzzing as it was. Plus, without any operating hours or a website to check, it could be a bit of a gamble to pop by unannounced. Still, if you fancy giving it a go, it's probably worth the effort for that authentic pub experience – just keep your fingers crossed it's open and carrying on as before!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always going the extra mile to make you feel at home, like chatting with the locals over a pint.
-
The pub grub is spot on – tasty, great value, and hits the spot after a day out in the countryside.
-
It's got that classic English pub atmosphere, with a fantastic selection of drinks that include vegan and organic options, perfect for a relaxed evening.
-
Plenty of fun activities like bingo or quizzes to join in, adding to the community feel and making it a lively spot.
Cons
-
There haven't been any recent reviews since 2019, so it's hard to say if things have stayed the same or changed over time.
-
No operating hours are listed, which makes it tricky to plan a visit without double-checking first.
-
The business might not be open anymore, as the status suggests it's closed, which is a real shame if that's the case.
-
With only a handful of reviews and no website, it's not the easiest place to get the latest info on what's going on.

Great pub grub!! Great value! New landlords couldn't do enough to accommodate us!!! Cheap bar as usual with Sam..
Nice local people, very helpful in giving us directions where to go to. Food was good, house wine was good. It was a great English countryside experience for us.
Really friendly staff, 'great pub'atmosphere, fantataic selection of drinks and the food oh my days the food- phenomenal.
Cannot recommend highly enough. Worth the walk and or bus ride.
Fantastic stuff
Went here for a bit of food after visiting Fountains Abbey on a Sunday. It's a lovely pub and the landlord was quick to include us in a game of bingo. The food was really nice and the ales were all vegan, organic and gluten free. We were then encouraged to take part in the pub quiz. We did poorly but couldn't of felt more welcome. If i lived nearby i would make the Greyhound Inn my local.
