About This Pub
Ah, The Greyhound – it's one of those pubs that really captures the heart of what makes a good British local, with its welcoming vibe and staff who go out of their way to make you feel at ease. I've heard from a few mates that the cheap drinks and the pool table make it an absolute winner for a laid-back evening, and it's especially nice to see out-of-towners saying how inclusive it feels. On the flip side, though, there was that one story about dodgy service that left a sour taste, making you wonder if everyone's experience will be as smooth. Overall, it's a solid choice if you're after that authentic pub feel without breaking the bank, but it'd be even better if they ironed out those occasional rough patches to keep things consistently welcoming for everyone dropping by.

Cons
-
There have been reports of inconsistent service, with one experience feeling unwelcoming and discriminatory, which is a real shame.
-
It seems like the place might not always be on its best behaviour, as some have mentioned issues with being overlooked at the bar.

-
Reviews are a bit sparse lately, so it might not be buzzing with the latest feedback from recent visitors.

This is a proper old school boozer its what an English should be and Caitlin sterling barmaid. Friendly place they even accept Londoners
The beef stew was full with beef and nice gravy.
The woman who served me was very nice to talk to and always served with a smile.
Horrendous place. Waited at the bar, the barmaid served everybody except for myself, probably because I was the only non white person in there.
She then told us they’d stopped serving drinks, even though they kept serving the regulars around the back, and she shouted at us when we left. Thank god I never have to go back! Management you should sort out your rude staff.
Great staff. Friendly atmosphere. Every 1 always made welcome and very cheap drink
A proper pub, friendly, great value and with a pool table.. had a great time here after a show at the Darlington hippodrome.. what more could you want!.. From Sheffield.. very welcoming!
