About This Pub
Ah, The Grand, what a gem in Warrington! It's got this wonderful old-school vibe from its days as a cinema back in 1913, and now it's all about cracking cocktails, fine wines, and craft beers that really hit the spot. From what I've gathered from the reviews, folks are raving about the staff – they're proper attentive and make events like afternoon teas or cocktail masterclasses feel truly special, with delicious food and drinks that keep the good times rolling. It's spot on for celebrations, whether it's a wedding reception or a hen do, and the rooftop bar is just the ticket for a sunny afternoon. But, fair play, it's not all perfect; the place is shut Monday to Wednesday, which might cramp your style if you're after a mid-week outing, and there've been a few grumbles about some staff not being as welcoming or minor service slip-ups like skimpy water portions. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for a night out – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as the positives far outweigh the niggles, and you'll likely leave with a smile.

Cons
-
Opening hours are a bit limited, closed Monday to Wednesday, which might not suit everyone looking for a mid-week pint.
-
Some staff interactions could be hit or miss; one mention of a manager not being the friendliest, which puts a slight dampener on things.
-
Little niggles with service, like small water glasses that aren't topped up or left on the table, can feel a tad underwhelming.

Recent Reviews
We recently had our wedding reception at The Grand in Warrington, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. The venue itself is absolutely stunning—elegant, stylish, and full of character, it provided the perfect backdrop for our special day.
From start to finish, the team at The Grand were incredibly accommodating. They catered to all of our requirements with professionalism and genuine care, making sure everything ran smoothly so we could just relax and enjoy the celebration. The service was flawless, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and our guests were full of compliments about the setting.
We truly can't thank The Grand enough for helping to make our wedding day unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a beautiful venue with outstanding service!
Visited the Grand for afternoon tea. Leon, our server was immaculate. He looked after us superbly and made it really special. Afternoon tea was lovely, with fresh sandwiches plus lots of cakes/scones/tarts. Absolutely delicious. We chose cocktails alongside our afternoon tea which were all perfect. Thank you Leon especially for making our afternoon so lovely
We had drinks on the roof terrace, it’s a lovely environment. The manager on the day was not the friendliest, the lady who served us was excellent, attentive and friendly. Only gripe - we asked for some water, tiny glasses arrived and were half filled , we asked for the bottle to be left but apparently this is not allowed as they would rather customers order ‘proper’ drinks, so don’t encourage water. Most people drink water to keep hydrated and this enables them to drink more! This rule is somewhat ridiculous.
We went for a cocktail masterclass (Jan 2025) and it was absolutely brilliant. We were really looked after. Chose 3 cocktails from the menu to learn, make and drink.
Alex, our dedicated barman was amazing .. so friendly and made it really fun. Brilliant value for money and a lovely place.
Couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
Well what can I say about The Grand other than it is an amazing venue with top notch staff!
Visited for a Hen Do and we booked 28 of us in for Bottomless Prosecco Afternoon Tea. The food was delicious, with home made cakes and scones. The Prosecco kept flowing throughout (I wouldn’t like to guess how many bottles we got through!) and nothing was too much trouble during our visit.
The venue is beautiful inside, a lovely setting for a Hen Do, Baby Shower, Birthday Party etc.
Special mention for Valentino and Jimmy who hosted us during our visit. They along with the rest of the team at The Grand were so friendly and helpful.
Will be back again soon! Thank you!
