About This Pub
Ah, The Globe Inn – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the staff are absolute stars, always up for a laugh and making sure everyone's sorted, whether you're popping in for a quick pint or settling in for a full meal. The food's a highlight too; imagine tucking into piping hot, generous portions of classics like haggis bonbons or a battered haddock, all served up with a smile from breakfast through to dinner. And if you're staying over, the rooms sound dead comfy with all the mod cons like Sky TV and free Wi-Fi, plus that traditional Scottish breakfast to set you up for the day. It's ideally placed right in the heart of Aberdeen, making it a breeze to get to the theatres or train station. But, to keep it real, some folks have mentioned the drinks being a tad expensive, which could put a dent in your night out if you're not careful. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening or a handy base, and I'd say it's worth a visit for the good vibes alone – just budget accordingly!

My greyhound and I were made very welcome when we called at this great pub for a drink on quiz night, after eating elsewhere. Three cask ales, all new to me, were available. Encouraged, we returned for food on another night. I had the haggis bonbons followed by standard size battered haddock - having first checked that this would not be more than I could eat - and a couple of ales. The food in particular was excellent. Disappointed by other dog-friendly and cask ale options in the city, we returned to The Globe for our final night. Once again, the welcome and choice of ales were great. But it was the food that made for a truly memorable evening. The Cullen Skink was very good and my main course of Cajun King Prawns with Penne Pasta was wonderfully spicy. No photos unfortunately. Why go elsewhere when things are this good?
Lunchtime visit with a friend. Given menus and told the days special. Our food and drinks order was placed and when the food arrived it piping hot. Generous proportions and very tasty. Friendly staff and efficient service.
Quite possibly my favourite pub in town, gives a great vibe upon entry, lovely stained glass above the door and on the ceiling. Honestly just come and see, it's close enough to two other great pubs: under the hammer and the grill, and bars: the bartenders lounge and Faffless, that you're in a spot for a great night out without hitting union street.
Drinks are reasonably priced for city centre Aberdeen - and it's camra pub of the year 2024. What's not to like?
No stars for rooms as haven't stayed but at £40 a night with breakfast seems ok.
Nice old style pub spoiled by the extortionate drinks prices. More expensive than the Millennium Hotel we were staying at which was definitely not expected. Staff on duty were doing their job but much friendlier staff on duty at our hotel so won’t be returning here unfortunately.
Nice place to be. Very gentle stuff and nice and Clean rooms for an overnight stay. Very delicous breakfast and the best coffee we had during our latest stay.
