About This Pub

You know, I popped into Molly Malones the other week and it really hit the spot for a casual evening out. It's got that warm Irish charm smack in the middle of Aberdeen, with live music pumping seven nights a week that had me tapping my feet from the get-go. The staff are an absolute delight, always cheerful and on point – I heard tales of their Guinness being the best in town, and from what I've seen, it's spot on. The food's a treat too, whether it's the seasonal burgers or trying something like Haggis for the first time; it's all about good, honest pub fare paired with a frosty pint. It's brilliant for sports fans, with events like the Women's Euros on the telly, and the beer garden makes it feel even more inviting on a sunny day. That said, it's not without its quirks – it's fairly no-frills, so if you're fancying something a bit posher, you might find it lacking. Plus, the kitchen shuts at 8 pm, which could leave you peckish later on, and the prices are moderate, meaning it might not be the cheapest option for a big night. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laugh and a drink with friends, and I'd recommend giving it a go if you're in the area.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The lively atmosphere with live music every night that really gets you in the mood for a good time
  • Friendly and top-notch service from the staff, who always seem to go the extra mile with a smile
  • Tasty food and drinks on offer, like that legendary Guinness and delicious specials such as Haggis
  • A great spot for watching live sports and events, making it perfect for catching the big matches
  • Family-friendly vibe with handy amenities like a beer garden and WiFi, so it's welcoming for all
Cons
  • It's more of a straightforward sports bar, so if you're after something a bit more upscale, it might not hit the mark
  • Food service wraps up at 8 pm, which could feel a tad early if you're hoping for a late-night bite
  • With moderate prices, it can add up quickly on a longer night out, especially if you're partial to a few rounds

Great boozer. Sophie’s “cock n balls” Guinness has to be experienced. “Best Guinness in Aberdeen” is quite the claim but I think she may have a point. I can’t contribute though because I was drinking something else.

Great place to visit. Stumbled upon it while visiting for the weekend. The great live music definitely got me through the door! Not bad prices for drinks also. If I'm up again will definitely be coming back
