About This Pub
Ah, The George Crosby – it's one of those neighbourhood pubs in Liverpool that you hear about and think, 'That sounds like a proper good spot for a pint and a bite.' From what I've gathered, the staff are absolute gems, always up for a chat and making you feel right at home, which is just what you want after a long day. They've nailed the food side too, with tasty options like the katsu hash and those unbeatable deals that make it easy on the pocket – ideal if you're popping in for a casual meal or a Sunday roast with the family. The beer garden is a real winner on a sunny afternoon, and with all the live sports on offer, it's brilliant for footy fans or anyone wanting to catch the latest events. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses; some have had a rough time with slow service or meals that didn't quite hit the spot, like a burger that was more dry than delicious or a dessert that left a bad taste. Still, with a solid overall rating, I'd say it's worth giving it a go if you're nearby – just go in with an open mind and you'll likely have a cracking time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like catching up with old mates.
-
They've got some cracking food options and deals, like the 2-4-£8.49 menu, which is perfect for a wallet-friendly meal without skimping on taste.
-
It's a great spot for families, with a lovely beer garden, live sports on the screens, and even being dog-friendly for those who bring their furry friends along.
-
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, especially for enjoying a Sunday roast or catching up on events like the Premier League – it's got that classic pub charm.
Cons
-
Service can be a bit inconsistent at times, with some reports of long waits for food that leave you feeling a tad frustrated.
-
Food quality isn't always reliable; a few folks have mentioned disappointing dishes, like overcooked burgers or unappetising desserts that didn't quite live up to the hype.
-
Occasionally, the overall experience might feel rushed or lacking in attention, which can put a damper on what should be a relaxed outing.

Came in to the pub to have a drink and something picky to eat. I had some small plates, katsu hash is my favourite I have to say. Bar staff was really friendly and food was delicious, would come again and definitely recommend
Love this place, visit often and the food is always spot on, staff are all very friendly and just a lovely atmosphere to sit with the family for dinner, very well managed and will always keep on visiting ❤️
Traditional pub 👌
Service was good outside the seating area, was OK the staff were very kind.
Excellent food as always and great service from Robbie! 5 stars
Well, what can I say.
Thursday lunch ... waited almost 35 minutes for "food" which was barely edible .. almost thrown at us.
The children's burger was an unbuttered brioche bun with an over cooked patty on it, and NOTHING else.
The "Honeycomb Cheesecake was disgusting (does anyone taste it before selling it to the public) and the icecream was so tasteless that even.my 4 year old grandson wouldn't eat it.
Never again.
