About This Pub
Ah, The George – what a gem in the midst of London's hustle! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, this place really shines with its food; folks are raving about the fish and chips that's crispy perfection without a hint of oiliness, and those scotch eggs with a quirky twist are just the ticket for a proper pub treat. The staff seem like absolute stars, always on hand with a smile and spot-on recommendations, making every visit feel personal and enjoyable. It's got that classic British pub charm, with quieter nooks for a relaxed dinner, which is brilliant if you're after a good natter over a pint or a mocktail. On the flip side, it can get a tad packed in such a central location, so you might have to plan ahead to snag a spot, and not every dish will suit all tastes – like if you're after a standout Sunday roast, it might not always deliver as expected. All in all, it's a solid choice for a night out; I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as the highs definitely outweigh any minor niggles, and you'll likely leave with a full belly and a big grin.

-
With a solid 4.5 rating from heaps of reviews, it's clear this place knows how to deliver a memorable experience every time.
Cons
-
It might get a bit crowded, especially in such a central spot, so you could end up waiting for a table during peak times.
-
Some menu items, like roasts on Sundays, might not always hit the spot for everyone, based on a few mentions of preferences not quite aligning.
-
Being in a busy area of London, parking or getting there could be a faff, though that's par for the course in the city.

We booked for dinner on Friday evening. We had an incredible time. The food was fantastic, I had the seasonal recommendations and loved the little twists made to the dishes. It was so delicious! All the staff were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and efficient with orders. But what really stood out was their genuine enthusiasm. Then we went downstairs and the atmosphere was amazing with live music. We will be back!
A fantastic spot to soak up the classic pub vibe with excellent food and warm, friendly service. Perfect for lunch — we enjoyed the best fish and chips, and everything from the beer to the mocktails, starters to dessert, was spot on. Located right in the heart of Marylebone.
Don’t forget to try black pudding scotch egg!
This is officially my favorite fish n chips now in London!! 🇬🇧 @thegeorgepublichouse I saw it at @eatingwithtod and @jamesdimitri I love the crispy crunchy batter they put on top! I ordered only half an order thinking I couldn’t finish it but I realized I could! It wasn’t oily at all and I didn’t get that greasy full feeling after!! Don’t forget the malt vinegar and tartare sauce!! A MUST TRY in London if you like fish n chips!!

Lovely place to have dinner.. we were seated in the red room on the first floor and it was a nice place to converse and grab a bite with volumes not as high as the ground floor..we ordered all the favorites namely the black pudding scotch eggs, pork scratching, fish and chips and the bone marrow curry with mashed potatoes.. loved the taste nd the look of each of the dishes.. the service was good too.
Definitely worth coming back for.
Definitely having a moment on Instagram with food reviewers and I'd say worthy of that. Food is upscale pub/British stuff. Very nice scotch egg, good prawn cocktail (although maybe some brown bread and butter would be good with it), quirky pork scratchings. We went on a Sunday and no one wanted a roast so only a few main courses on: burger, ish and chips and a paneer curry. We had burgers and small fish and chips. Burger served medium and super tasty. Fish and chips has extra battered scraps on top. Too full for pudding. Lovely service. Very good Guinness. It is pricey though.
