About This Pub

Ah, The Gardeners Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Droitwich, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews and their website, it's all about that classic British pub experience with a fantastic range of real ales that any beer lover would rave about, and they've got these fun festivals and events that keep things lively. The food really stands out too; folks are raving about the generous Sunday lunches and well-priced meals, making it a top choice for a hearty bite after a walk along the canal. It's wonderfully welcoming for families and even your furry four-legged mates, which is always a plus for a relaxed afternoon. On the flip side, a few people mentioned the staff can seem a bit standoffish now and then, like it's more tuned to the regulars, so if you're popping in for the first time, it might take a moment to settle in. Overall, though, with a solid 4.3 rating from heaps of reviews, I'd say it's well worth a visit for a good pint and a chat – just give them a ring to book if you fancy a table, and you'll likely have a cracking time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The real ales are fantastic – they've got a huge selection from UK breweries, and as a CAMRA member, you get 10% off, which is a lovely bonus for ale enthusiasts.
  • The food is spot on; think generous portions of hearty dishes like Sunday roasts and BBQ pulled pork, all at a reasonable price – perfect for a satisfying meal.
  • It's got a warm, welcoming vibe with family-friendly areas, a garden for kids to play, and it's super dog-friendly, making it ideal for a relaxed day out.
  • They host brilliant events like quizzes, music nights, and real ale festivals several times a year, which really add to the fun and community feel.
  • The atmosphere is charming and old-worldly, with options for private rooms and outdoor spaces, great for groups or special occasions.
Cons
  • Some staff can come across as a bit distant at times, which might make you feel like it's more for the locals than newcomers, though it doesn't seem intentional.
  • It might not suit everyone if you're after a more vibrant or modern pub experience, as it leans towards that traditional, community-oriented charm.
  • Booking is advised, especially for meals, so if you're spontaneous, you could end up disappointed if it's busy.

I don't know what it was about the place where I did enjoy the old-worldly feel to the place. and was comfy, but I felt some staff were a little distant. I do not think this was intentional, but this place is keyed to the local community. I felt an independent cast would have been good, but there was just the GK light and dark ale you find only in their pubs. Great curb appeal, though.

Went for the first time last Sunday. The roast dinner was excellent. Very generous servings and the beef was cooked just right. The pub has a lovely atmosphere with really lovey staff. Highly recommend gem in Droitwich. Looking forward to going back very soon.

We chose this pub because it was dog friendly. The food was nice, I had a BBQ pulled pork wrap and my boyfriend had a venison pie - both dishes were quite nice and well priced. The service was good and the younger waiter was friendly and chatty. Afterwards we went for a nice walk along the canal, which is just opposite - perfect for any dog walkers.
