About This Pub

Ah, The Gardeners Arms – it's one of those cosy local spots in Middleton that just feels like a proper community hub, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews and their website, it's got this warm, welcoming vibe that's spot on for a relaxed evening out with friends. The staff really shine here; they're always up for a chat and make sure everyone feels looked after, which is just what you want after a long week. The drinks selection is brilliant too – think top-notch cask ales, lagers, and some fun cocktails, all at prices that won't break the bank, especially with those special offers like Fizz Friday. And if you're into a bit of entertainment, they've got live music, darts, and all the footie action you could ask for, plus a function room that's perfect for sorting out parties or events without any fuss. On the flip side, it does get busy at the bar now and then, which can make grabbing a round a bit of a hassle, and if it's a quiet night, the atmosphere might not be as electric as you'd hope. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for a good night out – I'd say it's worth popping in for a pint and seeing what all the fuss is about, as long as you're up for a bit of variety in the vibe.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in
  • They've got a fantastic selection of beers, lagers, ales, and even some cracking gin and rum cocktails – perfect for a proper pint or a cheeky drink
  • The beer garden is a real gem, especially on a sunny day, offering a lovely spot to relax with your mates
  • Loads of entertainment on offer, like live music, darts nights, and all the big sports matches on Sky and BT, so there's always something going on to keep things lively
  • It's budget-friendly with great deals, such as Fizz Friday and multi-buy offers on beers and spirits, making it easy on the wallet
Cons
  • It can get a bit packed at the bar sometimes, which makes it tricky to get your drinks when there's a crowd
  • The atmosphere isn't always buzzing; it might feel a tad quiet inside on off nights, so it's hit or miss depending on when you go

Service was spot on, lot of people hanging around the bar in a group made it difficult to get you drinks, loads of space on tables etc. Sat outside with a couple of drinks and it was nice.
