About This Pub

Ah, The Front Room – it's one of those places that just wraps you up in a lovely, homely vibe from the moment you step inside. I've heard from folks who've been there that the staff are an absolute joy, always bright and cheery, making every visit feel personal and special, like you're part of the family. The atmosphere is spot on too, with its beautiful plants, books, and cosy furniture creating a real escape from the town's bustle – ideal for a quiet study session or a relaxed catch-up over their fantastic coffees and delicious bites like salt beef focaccia or a refreshing iced tea. They're ace at hosting events as well, turning ordinary gatherings into something truly sentimental, as shared in those heartwarming stories of baby showers and parties. On the flip side, though, the hours can vary a tad, so it's worth checking ahead to avoid disappointment, and if you're in the mood for something stronger than a mocha, you might need to look elsewhere since it's more coffee-focused. All in all, it's a gem for a laid-back day out, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're after good value and a feel-good experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – they're friendly, welcoming, and make you feel right at home, like chatting with old mates over a cuppa.
  • The atmosphere is spot on; it's a cosy haven with lovely plants, books, and comfy furniture, perfect for relaxing, studying, or catching up with friends away from the hustle of High Wycombe.
  • They've got a cracking selection of coffees and teas, plus tasty treats like toasties, French toast, and shakshouka that hit the spot every time.
  • It's brilliant for events; whether it's a baby shower or a Christmas party, they create a warm, sentimental vibe that makes special occasions even better.
  • Prices are fair and the deals are fantastic, so you can enjoy a proper treat without breaking the bank.
Cons
  • The operating hours can be a bit inconsistent across days, which might catch you out if you're planning a visit on a whim.
  • As it's more of a coffee shop than a full-blown pub, you won't find any alcoholic drinks, so it might not suit if you're after a pint or evening tipple.
  • It could get busy during peak times, making it tricky to find a seat if you're popping in spontaneously.

I love the front room, it’s a very sentimental place to my family. With the great service, atmosphere and staff who become family. I spent a lot of my pregnancy relaxing there (and eating) and Lauren and the team hosted my baby shower I will forever be greatful for and recently celebrated my sons first birthday there where Lauren and the team took care of everything from invitations, decorations, catering and cake! Couldn’t be more greatful for the frontroom and all the staff. A wonderful place to go and enjoy some food, coffee or to work. Thank you team x

I had an hour to kill in town whilst my car was being washed, so I thought I would treat myself to some lunch whilst I caught up on emails. Really recommend the salt beef focaccia and dragon fruit and mango iced tea. Great atmosphere and vibe and the hour flew by! Will definitely be heading back

The Front Room is a wonderful café where the personal touch of the manager can be felt in every detail from the food to the events to the decor. Full of beautiful plants, books and furniture, the café offers a space for everyone and is an absolute haven from the busy town centre. It's a place to slow down and reset. We hired the Front Room for a private event, and the manager and team went above and beyond to ensure a smooth celebration with no stress on us. We trusted all the details to the manager and unsurprisingly the food was delicious, music and atmosphere excellent and staff extremely friendly and helpful.

Radfield Home Care recently held our Christmas party at The Front Room, and it was an absolute success! From the moment we arrived, the festive atmosphere was incredible – everything was beautifully decorated, creating a warm and welcoming environment that instantly set the tone for the evening. The DJ and karaoke were both highly entertaining, and they truly helped everyone unwind, relax, and enjoy the night. However, the true showstopper of the evening was undoubtedly the food. The festive grazing boards were nothing short of spectacular, and we were blown away by the creativity and attention to detail. It’s clear that your team put a lot of thought and effort into the presentation, making the food not only delicious but also visually stunning. A huge credit to your staff for making the event so memorable – from the entertainment to the food, everything was perfect. Thank you for hosting such a wonderful celebration; it truly was a night to remember!
