About This Pub
Ah, Merletto Lounge—it's one of those spots in High Wycombe that just draws you in with its grand white building and those big windows letting in loads of natural light. I love how they've woven in the local history with that pretty lacy wallpaper and the impressive chair mural behind the bar; it gives the place a unique, homely feel that's perfect for a casual catch-up or a relaxed meal. The menus are a real highlight, offering something for all tastes with great vegan and gluten-free picks, and those daily deals like Tapas Tuesdays or the Cocktail Club make it easy to keep things affordable and fun. It's also brilliant that they're so accommodating with accessibility and even welcome dogs, which adds to the friendly vibe. On the flip side, though, I've heard a few tales of food not quite hitting the mark—like overly tough squid or slow service even on quieter days—which can leave you a bit disappointed if you're in a rush. Overall, it's a solid choice for a laid-back outing, especially if you plan ahead and go for the strengths, but it's worth keeping expectations balanced for a truly enjoyable visit.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The place has a really welcoming and spacious vibe with stylish decor, like that lacy wallpaper and the big wooden chair mural—it's got a cosy charm that makes you feel right at home.
-
They've got an excellent selection of menus with plenty of vegan and gluten-free options, plus all-day deals like Tapas Tuesdays and cheeky cocktails that make it easy to find something for everyone.
-
It's super accessible with wheelchair-friendly seating and restrooms, and being dog-friendly means you can pop in with your furry friend for a relaxed outing.
-
The staff can be spot-on when they're on form, going the extra mile to make your visit memorable, especially if you have dietary needs.
Cons
-
Some dishes can be a bit hit or miss, like that salt and pepper squid that one person found tough and cold—it's a shame when the food doesn't live up to the hype.
-
Wait times for food might drag on even when it's not too busy, which can put a damper on things if you're hoping for a quick bite.
-
For larger groups, you might end up split across tables, which isn't ideal if you're all wanting to chat together without any awkward separations.

It was our first time visiting Merletto Lounge in High Wycombe, and what initially drew us in was their great selection of vegan options. On arrival, the place looked fantastic—spacious with a rustic, stylish decor.
We took our time browsing the menu, which offered plenty of choice, including a dedicated vegan section. We initially tried to use the QR code to order at the table, but unfortunately, the payment kept failing. We eventually went up to the bar to order, where they mentioned there was a known issue with the system—it would have been helpful if they had let us know about this sooner.
Although there were only a few staff managing the large restaurant, the service was surprisingly quick. The food was excellent and great value for money. I had the Sri Lankan curry, which was absolutely delicious.
We definitely plan to visit again—next time with the kids, as I’m sure they’d find plenty to enjoy from the extensive menu.
Open plan space without sitting on top of each other. However as a group of 6 we sat on 2 different tables. But the teenagers are probably happy to sit on their own table
The food was delicious my chicken bacon avocado salad . Like the choice of not having ice with my coke. Food menu choices and easy to find what we wanted. Great choice drinks hot or cold and make up too.
Popular today, Able to talk was nice. We liked the art work on the walls.
Ordered tapas for lunch. The salt and pepper squid is honestly the worst I’ve ever eaten. Cold hard and tough. I couldn’t chew it! Took half and hour form them to cook 3 small dishes and the restaurant was not busy; 11 customers including myself. The only good thing was an Aperol Spritzer.
Adorable beautiful place very quaint! Not crowded and outside was just as beautiful!
Our go to safe restaurant for #GlutenFree as my Mrs is coeliac! A great chain & this branch crushed it tonight…
Attention to detail was incredible by Jamie today & he went over & above to make our experience outstanding! 🙏
Delicious, filling, lots of choice & of course #LoveLounging especially on a #CheekyMonday
