About This Pub

Ah, The Fox Ickenham – what a lovely little find in the heart of Ickenham! I've got to say, it's one of those places that just hits the spot for a proper pub experience with a twist of Italian flair. From what I've gathered from folks who've been, the food is where it really shines; those fresh pastas, wood-fired pizzas, and especially the Sunday roasts are getting high praise for being fresh, tasty, and full of heart – it's like getting a hug on a plate. The team behind the bar and in the kitchen seem genuinely passionate, with staff being super polite and professional, which makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. It's also brilliant for a night out; they've got happy hours, a great selection of drinks, and even spaces for events, so whether you're there for a casual catch-up or a special occasion, it caters nicely. On the flip side, it does get packed, particularly on Saturdays with the DJ spinning tunes, so you might end up queuing or finding it a bit lively if you're after something quiet. And let's be honest, the prices aren't the cheapest – those cocktails and wines add up – plus, sorting out the exact opening times can be a faff with the mixed info floating about. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for us pub lovers; I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as the positives far outweigh the niggles, and you'll likely leave with a smile and a full belly.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think fresh Italian dishes, handmade pasta, and those legendary Sunday roasts that everyone raves about; it's a real treat for the taste buds.
  • The staff are so friendly and welcoming, always with a smile and ready to make your visit memorable, which really adds to the cosy, homely vibe.
  • It's got a great atmosphere, especially since the reopening; perfect for a relaxed evening, catching up with mates, or even celebrating something special like a birthday.
  • Loads of options for drinks, from affordable happy hours with cocktails and beers to a nice selection of wines, and you can even get takeaways via Deliveroo.
  • Handy location near Ickenham station makes it easy to pop in after work or on the weekend, and they've got spaces for events which could be ideal for gatherings.
Cons
  • It can get pretty busy, especially on weekends or with events on, so you might have to wait for a table or deal with a bit of a crowd.
  • Prices are on the moderate side, with cocktails around £10 and prosecco at £22 a bottle, which might feel a tad steep if you're just after a quick pint.
  • There seems to be a bit of confusion with the opening hours listed in different places, so it's worth double-checking to avoid any disappointment if you're planning a visit.

I had a lovely afternoon on Saturday afternoon celebrating my birthday with my friends. Friendly atmosphere, great ambience, and good food and wine. This pub has certainly improved from The Home Bar. Nice to have smiling staff every time you walk in there. Makes such a difference. I had the ham and mushroom pizza which was very tasty - and a good price too. Can’t fault it!

Nice to have the pub reopen. I went on a saturday night and it was very busy and there was a DJ. The food was great and so were the cocktails. Some cocktails are £9.90 and some £10.50. I also had some prosecco which was £22 a bottle. There was a nice mix of people in there both younger and a older crowd.
