The Fox & Fiddler in Colchester

Ah, The Fox & Fiddler – what a gem of a spot in the middle of Colchester! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with that classic old-school pub charm, where the staff go out of their way to make sure you're looked after, just like chatting with mates down the local. I love how they've got a cracking selection of drinks at prices that won't break the bank, and that little courtyard out back is just the ticket for a relaxed afternoon or evening. It's brilliant for a casual catch-up or even celebrating something special, with a pool table adding a fun twist to the night. On the downside, it does seem to be a bit less buzzing than some of the other places nearby, which could make it feel a touch subdued if you're after a proper lively sesh.
