About This Pub
You know, chatting about The Fowler's Farm feels like recommending a hidden gem to mates – it's got this warm, inviting history stretching back 600 years, making it a proper cosy spot in Braintree. I love how the food steals the show with delicious options like the pie of the day or a fillet steak that folks rave about, and it's clear from the reviews that the chefs and servers put real heart into it. The atmosphere is spot on too, whether you're soaking up the sun in that fantastic garden or settling in by the log fires for a chat over cask ales or British gins. It's brilliant for families or even popping in with the dog after a local walk, and with a function room for events, it's versatile for all sorts. On the flip side, a couple of folks mentioned service being a tad leisurely, like when they missed out on dessert due to the wait, so if you're in a hurry, it might not be the best pick. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed outing – the positives far outweigh the niggles, and I'd say it's worth a visit for anyone after good grub and good times.

Lovely pub. Came for dinner, we had the pie of the day and a fillet steak and both were delicious. We will definitely be back to try a Sunday roast. Thanks to our server Jill and Chefs Rob Scott and Millie
Very nice place. Food is very delicious. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Thank you all.
Fantastic relaxed pub. Ate here at lunch time in the casual dining area on a sunny June day. Very relaxed vibe, casual background music.
Food was cooked by chefs Rob and Tom. Nailed the signature beef burger, loved that it was served with chips and onion rings. Fiancée had the chicken salad, elements were good though was missing a dressing. All in all a great pub feed. Bar staff very polite and helpful too.
Will be back again!
From start to finish Kerrie was exceptional. We hadn't booked however Kerrie was able to find us a lovely table. She was so intuative, knowing when we needed something and when we were content to be left to our own devices. She went out of her way to make the whole family feel welcome and suprised the birthday girl at the end of the evening. The customer service from Kerrie was exceptional at all times and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Thank you for making our evening one to remember!
Food was excellent, some of the best we've had in a while. Atmosphere was lovely, we were sat by the fire which then got lit, which we loved.
I allowed 2 hours, as I thought this would be enough time, however, service was slower then I expected, which was a shame as we didn't have time for desert. Server was lovely though, and when we said we had to leave, she got the bill straight away. Although the service was slow, it was nice not to be rushed and wish I had allowed more time.
I had non alcoholic cocktails and they were lovely as well.
Over all, strongly recommend, we will definitely be returning
