About This Pub

Ah, The Fountain Inn, what a lovely little spot it is! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, this place really shines with its food – I'm talking delicious home-cooked meals like those steak and ale pies that sound utterly irresistible, and their Sunday lunches have people raving about how tasty and generous they are. The team there seems like a proper friendly bunch, always going the extra mile to make sure everyone feels welcome, whether you're just nipping in for a pint or organising something bigger like a family event. And let's not forget the real ales; they're spot on for us who appreciate a good brew that changes up regularly. On the flip side, though, the opening times look a tad confusing, especially with those varying Sunday slots, which might leave you scratching your head if you're trying to pop by. Plus, without a website, it's a bit of a faff to get the lowdown on what's on offer beforehand. All in all, it's a solid choice for a night out – the positives far outweigh the niggles, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area for some good grub and a warm welcome.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely brilliant – think mouth-watering Sunday lunches, hearty steak and ale pies, and fresh buffets that leave you wanting seconds.
  • The staff are so welcoming and attentive; they make you feel right at home, whether you're popping in for a quick pint or hosting a special event like a wake.
  • They've got a cracking selection of real ales and keg beers that change regularly, perfect for us ale enthusiasts.
  • It's a cosy spot with a lovely atmosphere, ideal for a relaxed meal or a catch-up with mates, and the value for money is spot on.
  • They're great for groups, from coach loads to family gatherings, and always handle things with a smile.
Cons
  • The opening hours seem a bit muddled, especially on Sundays with multiple times listed, which might confuse folks trying to plan a visit.
  • No website means it's harder to check the menu or book ahead, so you might have to just turn up and hope for the best.

Mike and the team hosted the wake in honour of my Mom. They did a fantastic job. Catered for 50 people with a hot and cold buffet and there was more than enough food. A fantastic local pub with really great real ales and keg beers….

The Fountain Inn: A Great Place for a Sunday Lunch We had a fantastic Sunday lunch at The Fountain Inn with my wife and my mom and dad. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was lovely. The pub itself is very cozy and inviting. It has a great selection of beers and wines, as well as a delicious food menu. We all ordered different things, and everyone was very happy with their meals. The portions were generous, and the food was fresh and flavorful. The service was also excellent. Our server was very attentive and friendly, and she made sure that we had everything we needed. She also recommended some great dishes that we wouldn't have ordered otherwise. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at The Fountain Inn. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to eat in Dudley.

Another great lunch with an easily drinkable bottle of red. Our usual selection of starter plates creates our own UK style of tapas. Superb food, freshly cooked each time. Great value for money, just look at the bill.Thankfully we have found a local pub close to home. We now visit on a weekly basis for lunch and will continue to do so. The garlic bread with cheese is sumptuous and melts in yer gob. Yours stuffed in Gornal.

Great home cooked food. The Steak & Ale pie is mouth watering, chunky pieces of steak and you can really taste the ale. With a proper pastry, not just a puff one resting on top. Excellent selection of real ales, which are changed regularly. And the waitress that served us (blondish hair) was excellent and attentive. Definitely worth a visit and book a taxi
