About This Pub

Ah, The Forester – it's one of those pubs that really feels like the heart of the community in Dukinfield, you know? From what I've gathered, it's got this lovely, welcoming atmosphere that's just spot on for a casual get-together or even a family do. The food's a highlight; think hearty pub classics that leave you satisfied, and they've nailed the kids' options too, which is ace if you're out with little ones. Plus, the drinks selection is spot on, with everything from cracking beers to cocktails and those thoughtful low-alcohol choices for anyone watching their intake. And don't forget that beer garden – it's dog-friendly and a proper sun-trap when the weather plays ball. The staff come across as genuinely polite and helpful, adding to that homely feel, especially if you're there for the big match on the telly. But, to keep it real, there are a few niggles; I've heard some stories about food service being a bit hit-or-miss, like not being able to get orders in during peak times, and a couple of folks felt the portions didn't quite justify the price. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good night out – just pop in with realistic expectations, and you're in for a treat most of the time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The warm and family-friendly atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for catching up with friends or family celebrations.
  • Their menu is packed with delicious traditional pub classics, including award-winning kids' dishes that everyone raves about.
  • A fantastic selection of drinks behind the bar, from exploratory beers and ciders to wines, cocktails, and even low or no alcohol options.
  • The dog-friendly beer garden is a brilliant retreat, whether it's raining or shining, and it's great for relaxing outdoors.
  • Friendly staff and a lively vibe, especially with all the sports on TV like Sky Sports and TNT, making it ideal for match days.
Cons
  • There can be issues with food service, like delays in taking orders or times when food isn't available, which is a bit disappointing.
  • Some portions don't quite match the price, as a few have mentioned not getting enough for what they paid, like skimpy chips.
  • It might not be the best choice if you're counting on a seamless experience during busy periods, based on a couple of letdowns.

Went to watch the match and have food but not taking orders for at least an hour, why call yourself bar and kitchen when you don't have food available ? Won't consider for food again.
