About This Pub

You know, when I think about The Flying Horse, it's one of those spots that feels like a proper community hub in Blyth – nothing too flashy, but that's part of its charm. The staff are just lovely, always up for a chat and making sure you're looked after, which makes it easy to settle in and have a good time. Those karaoke nights come highly recommended; they've got that fun, upbeat energy that can turn an ordinary evening into something memorable. And let's not forget, the drinks won't set you back much, so it's ideal for a relaxed catch-up with mates. On the flip side, it might not be everyone's cup of tea – I've heard a few say it's alright but doesn't quite stand out from the crowd, like it's steady rather than sensational. Still, if you're after a place that's reliable for a laugh and a pint, I'd say give it a go; it's got that warm, unpretentious feel that makes you want to come back.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – they're friendly, attentive, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, which really sets a great tone for the evening.
  • It's got a lively and fun atmosphere, perfect for a good night out, with regular karaoke nights that sound like a proper laugh.
  • Drinks are reasonably priced, so you can enjoy a few without it hitting the wallet too hard.
  • They're spot on with accommodating special needs, like being wheelchair-friendly and handling dietary requirements with ease, which is a big plus for everyone.
Cons
  • It might not knock your socks off; some folks find it just okay and not particularly spectacular, like it's missing that extra spark.
  • The operating hours seem a bit muddled from what I've seen, which could confuse things if you're planning a visit.

A lively, fun place to be. When I first started drinking here I was made extremely welcome and I became a regular. Quickly made lots of friends there. Staff are hardworking, friendly and attentive. Drink prices very reasonable. Regular karaoke nights. Some really wacky regulars in there, really entertaining. The perfect place to forget your problems, let your hair down and relax after a hard day at work.
