About This Pub

You know, chatting about The Fletchers Arms feels like recommending a favourite local haunt – it's been a staple in Denton for ages, and what really stands out is their excellent carvery, available seven days a week, with hearty portions and options that cater to all tastes, including plant-based choices. The team there are just lovely, always ready with a smile and efficient service that makes you feel right at home, which is perfect for a relaxed evening or a family get-together. It's got that classic pub charm with a great selection of drinks, and the high ratings from so many folks show it's a go-to spot for a solid night out. On the downside, it can get absolutely buzzing on busier evenings, leading to a bit of a queue or slower service, and the atmosphere might feel a touch hectic if you're after something more subdued. Plus, if you're a dog owner, it's worth noting that your four-legged mate can join in during the week but not on Sundays. All things considered, it's a brilliant choice for us pub enthusiasts in Manchester, as long as you pick the right time to visit.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on, especially the carvery – it's a real treat with meat that melts in your mouth and plenty of options for veggies and vegans.
  • Staff are super friendly and welcoming, like that server Emma who's always getting a mention for her top-notch service and cheerful manner.
  • It's a lovely spot for families, with something for everyone from little ones to grandparents, all in a warm and happy atmosphere.
  • Dog-friendly policy is brilliant during the week, making it easy to pop in with your furry friend for a pint or a meal.
  • High marks from regulars mean it's a reliable choice for a well-pulled pint and a good vibe overall.
Cons
  • It can get really busy, especially on nights like quiz evenings, which sometimes leads to slower service and a bit of a wait.
  • The atmosphere might feel a tad overwhelming when it's packed, almost like a bustling station, so it might not be ideal for a quiet catch-up.
  • Sadly, dogs aren't allowed on Sundays, which could put a damper on weekend plans if you're hoping to bring yours along.

Was meeting a group of friends for catch up drinks. The Fletchers is a lovely place & the atmosphere is always friendly. On this particular evening none of us ate but the food has always been at a good standard. While we were there our waitress was a lady called Emma & she was really friendly, professional & made our experience even more enjoyable.

I visit here for the first time on Sunday for the carvery. The food was amazing. I couldn’t find one thing wrong. The puddings are to die for and the meat melted in your mouth. You can also have as many puddings as you like (bonus) Best Sunday lunch I have had out in a long time. I will highly recommend. All the staff were very friendly. The biggest pull for me was having one server only throughout our visit. I have visited many of restaurants and you can get any member of staff approaching your table and different servers. Having the same server throughout our meal made us feel even more comfortable/welcoming. Our server was called Josh he was amazing throughout, very friendly seemed very passionate about his place of work and looked after us throughout our meal. Josh is a credit to your business. I will definitely be returning.

Thursday night very busy. Didn't know speed quiz was on at nine. Good carvery for most of our table. Salmon great dish. Service was slow due to business. Atmosphere like a train station. Been various times and been better service and food. Been before and would return.

Oh wow what a find this place was! We were passing through and staying locally for football. I thought I’d google places to eat in Denton and The Fletchers Arms popped up at the top of the list. Firstly my son is called Fletcher, that was a sign, and then seeing over 2.2k good reviews was another good sign. I decided to book, I had no joy online so though I’d call, I wasn’t hopeful as it was Valentines night. When I called I was answered by a lovely member of staff that was very helpful, I was told that as it was Valentines night I could book for 4, as usually it’s a walk in service for less than 6 guests. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and taken to a round booth style table by Tom. We all decided we were going to have the carvery, and after our long day travelling we upgraded to the larger plate. We haven’t experienced a carvery other than the famous chain that start with a T and ends with a Y. We ordered with Tom, he then gave us a ticket so we could go to be served. We all went together to the hatch, there we were warmly greeted by the server, I believe he was called Mike, what a top guy! We were talked through the meats etc and Mike served us well, while having a chat and we said how nice it was there. The food was incredible, plentiful and with a good variety, It was all home cooked, and not mass produced like some places. We were all so stuffed we shared one dessert between us, the Biscoff Cheeses cake, that too was incredible. The atmosphere was so nice and warm, we stayed at our table, had a drink and listened to the live music for a bit. I would highly recommend a visit here, and we will come again when in the area, extremely good value for money too. Thanks for a nice evening.
