About This Pub

Ah, The Firepit – it's one of those places in Blackburn that you hear about and think, 'Why not give it a go?' From what I've gathered, it's a cracking little restaurant and cocktail bar with a real focus on flames and flavours, perfect for when you're in the mood for a hearty steak or a fancy drink. On the bright side, the food is spot on – think succulent steaks and delightful cocktails that leave you smiling, all served up in a modern, buzzing atmosphere that's just right for a laid-back evening with mates. The staff are generally chummy and keen to make things special, which adds a nice touch to the whole experience. But, and there's always a but, isn't there? Service can drag on a bit, with waits that might have you checking your watch more than once, and the prices for drinks feel a tad steep for the local area, which could put a damper on things if you're watching the pennies. Still, if you're not in a rush and fancy a solid meal in a welcoming spot, it's worth a visit – just go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a good time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious, especially the steaks and cocktails – they really hit the spot for a proper meal out.
  • Friendly staff who go the extra mile to make your visit memorable, creating a welcoming vibe.
  • A modern and vibrant atmosphere that's well-designed and perfect for a relaxed catch-up with friends.
  • Brilliant location right by the bus and train stations, making it super easy to pop in after travelling.
Cons
  • Service can be painfully slow at times, with long waits for drinks and food that might leave you hanging.
  • Drinks are a bit on the pricey side for Blackburn, like cocktails nearing £11 each – ouch!
  • Occasional slip-ups with orders, such as getting the wrong thing or having to chase for replacements, which can spoil the flow.
  • Meals often take ages to arrive, even when it's not busy, so it's not ideal if you're in a hurry.

Food was really quite good, I had steak and my partner chicken, Cocktails a bit pricey for Blackburn at almost £11 each and £6.45 for a pint of lager. Service was pretty awful, I had to ask for replacement drinks and for a dessert menu. Only had mains and drinks and was in there for almost 2 hrs. The restaurant was in a state surrounding us from other diners, and although staff were about they didnt seem to want to clean the other tables, despite it being very quiet. When they did get too it the girl literally carried one plate and a few knives and forks at a time. Even had to get up to ask for the bill. We were poorly attended to. The location is a bit rough, saw 2 fights outside, and by the time we left 2 police cars were on site attending to an incident in the nearby Premier Inn. If u want to try a firepit the Rawtenstall one is a better bet.

A great place to drink and or dine! First time visit last week. A modern, well designed place. Friendly and helpful staff. The atmosphere was vibrant and food was very good. A great location for anyone travelling by bus or train, as both are directly outside. However, it is worth noting that car parking is an issue, especially for anyone like me who is unfamiliar with the area. The closest car park I found was a pay and display some 5 minute walk away. Due to the popularity of this restaurant, I would definitely recommend booking in advance, particularly on Friday night and weekends. An impressive first visit and I will certainly be going again!

I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant for the first time with my family, and everything was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious, and the service was top notch. A special thanks to Chef, Olivia, Aleena, and Jessica for going above and beyond to make our experience truly memorable. I’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommend this place.

Slow service….. 17 minutes between ordering drink to getting it…. At before 5 pm on a Saturday when place was quiet. Food order took 40 minutes to arrive. Don’t bother going. Everything takes so long. Food OK… £18.95 for this …..

Took quite a long time to come and wasn't right so sent it back. It was changed but my hubby had finished by then and I had to rush because we were going to a concert. However, the food was absolutely delicious, hot and cooked perfectly. The cocktail menu is fabulous and they were very enjoyable. We will definitely be back. I got the black blue chicken burger and the sauce is to die for.
