About This Pub

Ah, The Fighting Cocks – what a gem of a pub down in Lowestoft. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's one of those places that just gets it right for a proper night out. The staff are absolute stars, always up for a chat and making sure you're looked after, which really sets the tone for the whole evening. You've got live bands and karaoke on offer, which is brilliant if you're in the mood for some singalongs or a bit of toe-tapping fun – it's not every pub that pulls that off so well. The atmosphere is spot on too, with a mix of all ages coming together for a laugh, and that outdoor area is a nice touch for when the weather's playing ball. On the flip side, the website's a bit of a letdown; it's not the easiest to get updates from, so you might end up winging it a bit. And while the drinks flow nicely, there doesn't seem to be much on the food front, which could be a shame if you're peckish. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for anyone wanting a welcoming spot to unwind – I'd say it's worth popping in for the good times, even if it's not perfect in every way. Just remember, like any pub, it's the people that make it special!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • It's got a brilliant atmosphere with live bands, karaoke nights, and all sorts of fun events that keep things lively.
  • The regulars and owners are so warm and genuine, creating a real sense of community where everyone gets along.
  • There's a lovely outdoor area that's perfect for a pint on a sunny day, adding to the charm of the place.
  • Drinks offers and entertainment options make it a top spot for a good time, whether you're there for a casual catch-up or a bigger night out.
Cons
  • The website seems a bit lacking and hard to navigate, which might make it tricky to get the latest info before heading over.
  • Operating hours appear a tad confusing from what's listed, so you might want to double-check to avoid any surprises.
  • There's not much mention of food options, so if you're after a proper meal, it might not be the first choice – though the drinks and vibes are spot on.

The Fighting Cocks public house has. seen many Landlords over the yrs But is now in the safe Hands of the best landlords ever the pub is thriving not only as a live music venue but karaoke fun nights and much more there’s always such a friendly atmosphere with people from all age groups coming together to enjoy themselves the Fighting Cocks has a zero tolerance of any drug use so if that’s your thing leave the drugs at home or you will be swiftly removed from the premises THE FIGHTING COCKS IS THE BEST PLACE IN TOWN FOR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS TO GET TOGETHER AND HAVE A GREAT NIGHT WITHOUT ANY TROUBLES OR PROBLEMS ,,,,,,, Have a great day folks and I’ll see you there BEST WISHES PAUL MILLER

Having experienced many many pubs in my time UK and Europe wide, this is one of best all day long. The owners are ever so welcoming, the bar staff on par and just as importantly the customers.......... mostly regular customers........ really genuinely warm, so very welcoming, kind, like a laugh and enjoy a good chat about today's world. If you want peace and quiet, your not ever interrupted, if you miss social company and want an enjoyable few drinks with good company then go to this pub, all the people are genuinely lovely!!!! Will be back there very soon!! Gavin.
