About This Pub
Ah, The Dukes Head in Slough – it's one of those pubs that really hits the spot for a laid-back drink with mates. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are absolute gems, always polite and on the ball, and the place is kept in tip-top shape, especially the bar and loos, which is always a plus after a long day. You've got a solid range of drinks on offer, and if you're popping in on a good day, you might catch some live music out in the garden, which overlooks the village and makes for a lovely setting. On the downside, it's not the best shout if you're with the family; one person had a right hassle trying to bring kids in, and there was that dodgy moment with someone mucking about with a nail gun, which sounds a bit alarming and could put you off. All in all, it's a decent spot for a casual catch-up, but I'd say it's more suited to adults looking for a quiet pint – just keep those family outings in mind before you head over.
Pros and Cons

-
It's kept spotlessly clean, with the bar area and toilets being particularly well-maintained.

There's a great selection of drinks to suit all tastes, making it a proper spot for a pint or soft option.
-
The pub has lovely outdoor seating in the garden with nice views of the village, perfect for a relaxed afternoon.

They occasionally host live music, adding a bit of buzz and making it feel like a proper community hub.
Cons
-
It's not always the most family-friendly, with some reports of children being turned away or restrictions in place.
-
There have been instances of unsafe behaviour, like someone playing with a nail gun, which could spoil the vibe.
-
A few visitors have mentioned it doesn't feel welcoming for women or families, based on their experiences.

NOT FAMILY OR FEMALE FRIENDLY!!
Popped in around 3.30 for a drink after a long day at work with my mum and two children for my birthday. As soon as we walked in we were told no children at the bar and no children running around as construction workers were having a drink! My children sat down drank their drinks and ate their crisps. When they finished they got up and went to look at the Christmas tree and my mum went to get another drink when she was told the landlord rang downstairs and said the children need to sit down and be quiet and the barmaid said the construction workers need peace and quiet as they've been at work all day, my mum then said I can't believe you just said, do you know how sexist that comment is?!
Popped in as eldest daughter needed the toilet. Stayed for a pint and kids had soft drinks. Staff very friendly. Extremely clean toilets and bar area. Plenty of drink choices. Would recommend a visit.
It was very cold. The bar lady was very efficient and polite …… as always. But we left when one of the punters started playing with nail gun in the bar. It’s was dangerous and irresponsible.
A shame really as it’s a ( minute walk from me. So it looks like the stag from now on.
Update 25/10/2023. Very nice food. Good service. This has certainly changed since our last visit. But back to how it was but still good.
Lovely country style pub. Plenty of seating inside and out, with a back garden as well as a front garden with a nice view of Farnham Royal village. They sometimes have live music too 🍻
Fantastic staff, fantastic food much bigger than i realised
