About This Pub

Ah, the Duke of Cambridge in Twickenham – it's one of those pubs that really comes alive on match days, isn't it? I have to say, I love how close it is to the stadium; it's just the ticket for a pre-game pint or winding down after the whistle. The beer garden is an absolute treat, especially when the sun's out, and they've got all those HD screens blasting the latest sports, which is brilliant if you're into your rugby or footie. It's also really welcoming for families and dogs, giving it that cosy, community feel. On the flip side, though, the prices can catch you off guard – that £8.50 for a Guinness in a plastic cup feels a bit steep, doesn't it? And there are a few quirks, like not hearing the commentary clearly or dealing with queues for the loos when it's packed. Overall, it's a solid choice for a good time, but it's worth going in with your eyes open to those little downsides, so you can make the most of what it does well.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • It's got a brilliant location right near Twickenham Stadium, making it spot on for match days and soaking up that rugby vibe.
  • The beer garden is a real gem, perfect for enjoying a drink outside on a sunny day, especially before or after games.
  • They've got loads of HD screens showing sports from Sky and BT, so you won't miss a moment of the action.
  • It's family and dog-friendly, with a welcoming atmosphere that makes everyone feel at home.
  • Service is pretty efficient during big events, with temporary bars to keep things moving quickly.
Cons
  • Drinks can be a bit pricey, like shelling out £8.50 for a Guinness in a plastic cup – that stings a little.
  • There are some sound issues, such as not being able to hear the commentary properly on the screens, which is a tad frustrating.
  • Queues for the toilets can get long, especially when it's busy, so you might have to plan around that.
  • The music from the bar doesn't carry well outside, making for an odd atmosphere at times.

£8.50 for a Guinness in a plastic cup - absolutely criminal. Won’t be returning.

No better pub garden close to the Stadium. The perfect place for warm up and wind down drinks.

Good starting point before a rugby match. Decent choice of beers and drinks. They show the earlier games on screens, both inside and outside, but don't put the commentary on until the match starts...why??? Can't hear the music from the bar when outside anyway. Very odd.

Although we didn't have food, it was a great pub that captured the atmosphere of the occasion of a big match at Twickenham. It will now become my go-to pub on match day.

The closest pub to the rugby ground. Ideal for a pre match pint or two. They setup to accommodate the crowd with multiple temporary bars so it doesn't take to long to get served. You will however need to queue for the loo.
