About This Pub
You know, I had a lovely time at The Duke the other day, and I reckon it's one of those pubs that really captures the spirit of Blackpool – it's got that warm, welcoming feel with a fresh look and plenty going on. The food stands out as a real winner; I tucked into a steak and ale pie that was hearty and full of flavour, and they've got deals like curry night for just under a fiver, which is brilliant value. The bar's got a solid range of drinks to suit all tastes, and it's great for a laugh with events like sing-along sessions where you might even win a bar tab. The staff are absolute gems, always ready with a smile and a friendly word, making you feel like part of the gang. But, to be fair, it's not all perfect – on busier evenings, you might end up queuing for ages at the bar because they seem a bit short-handed, and I've heard a few tales of food not being up to scratch, like greasy onion rings or limp chips that leave you a bit disappointed. Still, overall, it's a solid choice for a night out; just pop in on a quieter day if you're after a more relaxed vibe, and you'll likely have a cracking time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on, with delicious options like fish and chips, steaks, and even a cracking steak and ale pie that's proper home-cooked goodness.
-
The staff are brilliant and make you feel right at home – think friendly faces like Laura who's always smiling and up for a chat.
-
It's got a lively, welcoming atmosphere with a mix of all ages, plus fun events like karaoke nights and curry deals that add a bit of excitement.
-
The bar's well-stocked with a great selection of cask ales, lagers, wines, and spirits, perfect for enjoying with mates over a game of pool.
-
Handy location just off the seafront in Blackpool, and it's open from early morning till late, making it ideal for a full day out.
Cons
-
On busy days, like Bank Holidays, the bar can get understaffed, leading to long waits for drinks that might put a dampener on things.
-
There have been a few gripes about food quality slipping occasionally, such as soggy chips or oily onion rings that don't quite hit the mark.
-
The atmosphere can feel a bit overwhelming when it's packed, so it might not be the best spot if you're after a quiet pint.

The atmosphere in here has changed so much it's unreal I'm impressed Laura your a legend in your own right!! Can't believe I remember you from marleys pay rise needed We'll be always in there bab the foods nice and reasonably priced!!!!
Really like the pub. The atmosphere is good with all different age groups. The only problem was that there were only 2 bar staff working on a busy Bank Holiday Sunday when we were there, so the wait for drinks was too long. Otherwise, everything else was good.
What a transformation...
