About This Pub

Ah, let me tell you about Peek A Booze—it's one of those places in Blackpool that really captures the spirit of a good night out, especially if you're in the mood for some cabaret flair and a touch of Pride celebration. From what I've gathered from chats with other visitors, it's all about that inclusive atmosphere that makes you feel accepted and entertained right from the get-go. The live shows are an absolute highlight; they're packed with energy, from hilarious comedy acts to lively music that keeps the crowd buzzing every evening. Pair that with decent food and cocktails that hit the spot without costing a fortune, and you've got yourself a solid spot for a memorable evening. The staff are just lovely, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which really adds to the charm. On the flip side, it's a shame it's not dog-friendly, as that might put off a few who like to bring their pets along, and the rooms are a bit no-frills if you're thinking of staying over—they're clean and do the job, but nothing fancy. All in all, it's a welcoming haven that does entertainment and affordability well, but it's worth keeping those little drawbacks in mind if you're planning a visit. If you're after a fun, safe space for a drink and a show, I'd say give it a go—it's got that special something that makes Blackpool's nightlife shine.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is incredibly warm and welcoming, making it a fantastic spot for everyone, especially in Blackpool's gay village—it's all about that inclusive vibe that makes you feel right at home.
  • Live cabaret shows and entertainment are top-notch, with nightly performances that keep things lively and fun, as shared by folks who've had a blast with the comedy and music.
  • The food and drinks are spot on—good value, plenty of options, and breakfast gets a thumbs up, perfect for a relaxed start to your day or evening out.
  • Staff are always friendly and attentive, adding to the enjoyable experience whether you're popping in for a drink or staying over.
  • Prices are reasonable, offering great value for what you get, from affordable beers to hearty meals that won't break the bank.
Cons
  • It's not the most pet-friendly place, as they serve food and don't allow dogs, which might disappoint if you're out with your furry friend.
  • The rooms are pretty basic, so if you're after something luxurious for your stay, it might not quite hit the mark—though they're clean and functional for a quick getaway.

We came here every night over last week's Bank Holiday weekend and thoroughly enjoyed each visit. Discovered on the Friday that Cybil had left, but we needn't have had any misgivings because this venue continues to offer a warm, welcoming, entertaining and safe space for everyone. The comedy show on the Sunday night was brilliant. Relieved to say that Peek-a-Booze has been taken over by a stellar pair of professionals in Wayne & Daz. Well done boys! Pete & John xx

Left a review on TripAdvisor which I can't edit so part two is here. This is my second visit to the recently newly managed venue and it didn't disappoint. Came back with the same mates as last time and wanted to experience Sunday evening this time. The DJ Duke guy was funny as hell and it looked like he worked from dawn as chef to dawn (again) as compere and dj. You must be knackered mate Sunday night was hilarious. No spoilers but Tuppence a bag is still making me piss myself on the way home Monday. The hotel is budget as stated but my room (and the previous) was clean, tidy and well stocked. No complaints here but mu mates room on the top floor probably needs a new thermostatic valve on the shower outlet as it was unusable so he used mine. However they're updating the rooms on an ad hoc basis and it's a nitpick. The staff are probably being managed really well because it comes across in their attitude and under stress they're still pleasant. Well done on turning the place around in such a small window. You will need earplugs, or ask for a far room as it's loud till 1am over the bar but it's a nice price to pay for crawling upstairs rotten drunk after a good laugh. Will be back

Cant comment on the rooms as I've never stayed over,as I live not far from the location. The place is clean, and the bar staff always friendly. The food is good. Breakfast is also good.

Cheap and cheerful. Room is basic, but has everything you want at a good price. Food was great value, plenty of it at good prices. Beer prices were comparable to other local bars. Entertainment on in an evening (we didn't stay in to see it so can't comment on how good it was.....but alway a crowd of people in the bar on our return). Would definitely use again

Have used venue many times with friends and enjoyed it.. Well stocked bar, entertainment, nice staff, Not dog friendly though as serve food.. That's OK though as I just go to the many other venues that also serve food but do allow dogs in, walked past last night and there were two aggressive large dogs continually barking by the door, maybe they were staying in the hotel section, so possibly dog friendly in the hotel, didn't ask though as these dogs were so aggressive I had to cross the road, so now confused over the dog situation, especially as it looked like a doorman/member of staff holding them back!
