About This Pub
Ah, The Dome Bar—it's one of those places in Watford that really grows on you once you step inside. From what I've gathered from the chats online, it's got this lovely, welcoming feel where the staff and the crowd make you feel like you're among mates straight away. The Thai food steals the show for many; imagine tucking into soft, tasty fried calamari or flavour-packed crispy belly pork—sounds like a treat if you're in the mood for something a bit different from the usual pub grub. And if you're up for some live music or just a solid pint in a relaxed setting, it's spot on for that. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect—I've seen a few moans about the food being greasy or not up to scratch, like over-fried starters that end up in the bin, and one person even said the meat tasted off after trying the whole menu. Plus, it might come across as a bit of a straightforward drinking spot rather than somewhere fancy, and there have been times when things got a tad lively with folks causing a stir. All in all, if you're after a laid-back evening with good company and decent eats, give it a go, but maybe stick to the rave-reviewed dishes to play it safe.

Drinks are spot on, and the overall setup feels cosy for a relaxed night out in Watford.
Cons
-
Some food experiences have been disappointing, with reports of over-fried starters that are greasy and uneatable, plus soggy meat that doesn't taste fresh.
-
The pub itself might not appeal to everyone—it's been described as more of a spot for a quick drink rather than a polished venue, especially if you're after something beyond the basics.
-
There have been occasional issues with rowdy behaviour, which could put a damper on things if you're hoping for a peaceful evening.

This really is the best bar in Watford, all the staff and customers are friendly and make you feel welcome and part of the family.
Real Thai food, absolutely delicious, I'm slowly working my way through the menu. No disappointments yet. Lots of classic and modern cooking all in the great atmosphere of the local pub. I can't wait to choose my next dishes

Over fried starters soaking in grease, uneatable vegetables that serves only decorative purpose. The meat is soggy, and doesn't taste fresh at all. Looks like only the chefs skill is cutting carrots in shape. After my 3rd visit I have tried the entire menu, and unfortunately been disappointed by every single item served. Portions are tiny. They can't even cook rice properly, came all dry and stuck in one piece with only the middle being hot.
Lovely and authentic Thai food. I really recommend it. The fried calamari were soft and very tasteful. The crispy belly pork was absolutely yummy and full of flavour.
The pub isn't very good. Before Apple took under control of the kitchen, this pub was only a place where people were getting drunk any day of the week. I was a bit afraid to go inside for a meal. For that reason, I can't give 5 stars to the Pub, but I give 6 stars to the food.
Kinda rubbish photos. We went to see scary canary and we all thought it looked a bit ruff on the outside but couldn't have had a nicer time!
The band was good along with the drinks. The staff were nice and put safety first by the looks of it. Think a guy was on drugs and they through him out pretty sharpish.
Nice pub guys. Shame we are not that local.
